I’m so confused by this statement. You can quite literally spell reflect Focused Deluge in Halls of Origination. Every season there’s been a spreadsheet explaining what abilities you can and can’t spell reflect.
Add in Spell Block and really Warriors aren’t struggling with magic damage anymore in Dragonflight. We struggle with bleeds more than anything else.
I dont think Warrior is going to be bad, but they definitely need some love. Intervene needs to work like Blessing of Sacrifice, Rally Cry needs to be 20% DR with a 10 minute CD, and a talent to allow a dispel. Otherwise its a very competitive spec as long as damage is balanced.
In a similar light really do think that Rally Cry needs to be the next big CD group external, and it needs to go to more than Warriors. Monk, Rogue, Demon Hunter, and Priest all do not have Lust or Brez. Its time to even out the playing field.
That’s precisely what it means. You can clear 95% of the content in this game without giving a single second’s worth of thought to what class and spec you should play. A class being stronger than another is irrelevant. You not getting this makes sense unfortunately.
It’s only very select few things we can actually reflect now but most spells will just be blocked it’s annoying but it makes sence because it was completely nutty in M+ i will try and find the link to show what i mean but they did say that we wouldn’t actually be able to reflex stuff in PvE.
Edit: i can’t find the post but i remember seeing it i could be mistaken but i remember seeing it and was shocked that would even put it forwards since it’s one of our unique abilitys maybe they didn’t actually do it but it feels like they did since most of the time i use spell reflect on boss it doesn’t seem to actually reflect it back on most bosses only a few.
Please just google Dragonflight Spell Reflect Spreadsheet. There are so many targeted abilities you can reflect, and even more that you can block. Add in the fact that Spell Reflect grants a flat 25% magic damage DRF and its crazy that you think that Spell Reflect isn’t good for prot warriors or that they struggle with magic damage for some reason.
I’m not saying that it’s not good the 25% reduction is nutty but the problem is that once thats gone all we have is ignore pain which as i stated gets chunked really hard because it’s % damage we take and we have no inate magic resist and because just about everything is magic damage now we are the weakest tank when it comes to magic defence we always have been.
Back when it was a 90% reduction for ignore pain it was fine because like i said we abuse that poor ignore pain button like no tomorrow but they keep lowering the percent of damage that we block with ignore pain and it just keep hitting us harder and harder while other tanks have more ways to midigate magic damage we don’t unless we have spell reflect up we are in trouble alot of the time when big hits come, i will admit blizz has been kinda good to us having some abilitys be hybrid physical and magic so we can block the physical parts but the magic just hits us hard.
Shield Wall, Spell Block, Ignore Pain, Last Stand, Demoralizing Shout. If you’re struggling with magic damage, you have so many other ways to just cut damage. The only time magic damage has been even a remotely scary effect this expansion has been the Frost Drakes in Halls of Origination. And again, thats only if you misplay your cooldowns and don’t understand how to mitigate the damage.
The only time of damage Warriors truly struggle with is bleeds, because we have only Ignore pain and self healing to try and mitigate it. Magic Damage we have so many tools when played properly its a non-issue.
I find it normally the otherway around i have no issue with bleeds it’s always magic that gets me but who knows maybe i play differantly but even with all the defences we have i still HATE magic the most bleeds bah never does much to me if i don’t have my spell reflect up i’m like daffy duck just sitting there going mother and blowing up and getting sent into the backwall twitching.
Like i said could just be how i play but magic has always been my bane on warrior anything else i can take like a champ but magic just shreds me maybe i need to stack some more verse not sure but it’s always been my bane on warrior tank.
I love Spell Reflect and Spellsteal for that reason - it’s such a great feeling when you nail the right mechanic with them. Reflecting that huge shadow blast in heroic Old Kingdom, and stealing various buffs in many heroics and sometimes raids.

Prot’s big weakness was, and still is, utility. However, I feel like it’s a lot better after the last band-aid fixes they did.
I wish it did more damage, though.

Even if they aren’t meta they are the most satisfying tank spec to play. I got KSH with my prot warrior in shadowlands when it basically wasn’t even playable. Especially in De other side. I enjoyed the class that much.
Those whole expansion has had super satisfying times where spell reflect was great. Throne of Tides, Halls of Origination, Everbloom, Uldaman. Its actually something that really demonstrates mastery of keys for Warriors this expansion.
KSH was super free after the very early mob balance fix, so it wasn’t 100% kiting as low as 5s. After 9.0.5, KSC was reasonable with the changes, though quite tough for most. In 9.1, it was pretty free with the sweeping changes, and new seasonal.
Class comp had such a ridiculous effect on success rate in keys during Shadowlands.
The big circular room was hell on earth. I agree the class comps really mattered then
Prot warrior feels like you’re just handicapping yourself compared to the other tanks. The utility is pitiful, the damage is bleh, and surviving well is not a unique trait to warriors.
But it’s still easy to get into groups because groups are absolutely desparate to get any kind of tank. This hasn’t been a fun M+ season at all and people are quitting in droves.

I think never, hope it helps
I can get to work by riding my bike and by driving my car. The vehicle I use to get to work is not irrelevant even though they both can get the job done.
I can time a +10 on my warrior and on my demon hunter. The class I use to time a +10 is not irrelevant even though they both can get the job done.
In both the examples above I can complete the task with each of the tools but one tool on each example requires a lot more effort. Spec matters.

You thinking a +10 requires much effort says a lot more about you than the class you choose to play. My point stands, in 95% of content class and spec is irrelevant, your inability to play well notwithstanding.
You’re wrong and you’ve been shown to be wrong and now your ego won’t let you accept it.

It’s ironic that you literally just described your stance. Such is life, you’d rather complain than accept your shortcomings. Warrior and prot aren’t why you cannot complete mid level keys.
