When are hunters going to get some love?

Go to the warrior forums and talk about it, no class traitors here

If you look at all the drama on Twitter from Blizzard employees, their silence is likely caused by being severely short-handed and losing people left and right. I think the developers themselves are doing all they can, but the management is making the task impossible. Unfortunately, Hunters are probably way down the list of things that need worked on, and the penny pinchers are focused on new content over balance of current content.

This is Blizzard’s design philosophy for hunters.

I hope you mean they’ve been bad since AFTER Ny’alotha, because I was absolutely destroying as BM in Ny’alotha. But all of Shadowlands and Dragonflight so far? Complete dogwater.

Those will be changed and added to dramatically between now and when it actually drops.

Yes, sorry I could have worded that better. As far back as but not including Nyalotha.

Warriors have great talent trees, low cost talents, with lots of options. Warriors also have two unique forms of mandatory raid utility (battle shot, rallying cry) on top of spell reflect, on top of dealing better damage than Hunters in almost every form of content

Hunter talent trees are not as good as they could be. On the spec tree, you only have two options for DPS, the ST build and the AoE build with no chance of any variation of them as any changes to those builds results in 5k or more DPS loss.

The whole aspect of the wild side of the tree and down is also useless and a massive DPS loss for something that is supposed to offer 2 large DPS cooldowns.

They had absolutely no trouble nerfing us into the ground. Its not being short staffed. It is at this point either intentional and malevolent or a matter of complete disregard for the most played class in the game. I have become increasingly convinced they want to force hunters to either switch to their fancy new dragons or quit. Not a single blue post on the hunter forums. Not a word in patch notes. Not even a bit of recognition that theres a problem. At this rate I might just quit the game, despite dragonflight overall being a decent expansion. Hunter talent trees are awful, our balance is terrible, I mean what motivation do we have to keep playing.

Hey maybe the beginning of something but I am not going to hold my breath, I don’t have enough defensives to risk it…

BM slaps in PvP, but it is crap in PvE.
I’m okay with one of the easiest specs being medicore dps wise though

Very funny coming from someone PLAYING SURVIVAL with green parses in normal.
anyone that says bm is the easies spec in the game is clueless, stop parrotting bad youtubers.

What would the easiest class/spec be? Destro?

Has anyone dethroned Havoc Demon Hunter as the easiest spec to play yet?

Beyond that, speaking only from personal experience, I have found Destro Lock, Elemental Shaman, Shadow Priest, Unholy DK, Frost DK, and Arms Warrior to be easier than BM. Mostly because they’re just straightforward in how they work and you’d have to really mess up to do poorly.

Specs I’ve found to be more difficult than BM; Outlaw Rogue, Demo Lock, Marks Hunter, and Devoker. Each has their own reasons for being on this list, but mostly has to do with RNG, reacting to procs, and how one flubbed key can screw everything up. I’m getting older and my reflexes aren’t what they used to be.

As far as BM itself, I think BM is incredibly easy to play, but so much harder to master than people want to admit. When people say BM is easy, they generally mean they can go out into the open world and not worry about dying.

In end-game content, however, BM is a lot of micromanagement. The ability to move without interrupting our rotation is intended to make us mechanics monkeys. BM Hunters are routinely chosen to deal with mechanics in raid encounters, which is why so many high end players are upset at our lack of defensives and self-sustain.

Retribution paladin.
hands down.
And the class actually being “easy” to play by not having any sort of stupid mechanic to cause downtime actually makes it very fun to play, its fluid.

Ah. I picked Destro because I mained Warlock for 12 years. Firsthand account aha.

Agree with most of what you said except this. With the talent tree re-vamp I think havoc is one of the harder specs to play now. Momentum build is meta and you have to micro manage all your little damage buffs to line up with essence break. Easy to mess that up… or to fel rush in bad and get killed.

They rather remove a pet we got to tame, vorquin foal, while allowing one tamed same way, mammoth, then care about helping hunters.

maybe thats why theyre making hunters so bad for so long. hoping people will stop playing the most played class

it sucks, im a hunter then i picked a necro in d4. im just taking all the fat L’s in blizzard games. swear to god

I am having a terrible time playing my hunter main since I returned to WoW for Dragonflight. BM specifically feels like garbage. I love the dual pets but otherwise no burst, weak AoE, the rotation is boring, defensive abilities are terrible and I am dying constantly in situations where much lower geared toons are doing fine. Our one main damaging cooldown - Kill Command, doesn’t feel great at all. I will always love my hunter as he is my OG main, but I find myself playing my ret pally so much more.
