When are expansion upgrades available?

I can’t remember when the upgrades to an expansion are available. If I buy base now, will I be able to upgrade to Heroic or Epic before TWW launch?

You’ll be able to upgrade even later than that.

I believe they’re available right this very moment. You’ll pay the difference if you wish to upgrade.

You can almost always upgrade your edition of an expansion, even after launch. You just have to decide if you’re willing to pay extra for the features you want (now, at launch, or sometime after launch).

Can you still get older upgrades?

I think you can only upgrade editions for the current expansion before the next expansion goes on sale.

The Shop Page for Dragonflight now lists only one basic option at $29.99; I don’t see upgrade options for that now and it says “[Dragonflight is] Now included in all editions of The War Within™!”

WAIT A MINUTE! does this mean they have ditched the model of releasing the previous expansion for free when prepatch launches?

I’m guessing once The War Within actually launches, that Dragonflight will be free: To reiterate, the shop page for DF says “Now included in all editions of TWW.”

Edit: Maybe if you buy TWW, you get DF for free right now? That seems implied, but I already own DF so can’t confirm.
