When are covenants getting fixed?

LoL, can you imagine? A machine gun of kill shots.
Well, I don’t know what they can do to put Venthyr and Necrolord closer than Night Fae and Kyrian, but would be great.

Ah, yes… WoW is balanced by the players and not the developers.

Uhhh…sure there is. I picked Night Fae based on their colour scheme. I have timed a 10 and we are working towards a 15. Just pick the one you like and stop pretending like it is going to make or break the game for you.

Answer is simple, when it makes enough of a difference (see Convoke in PvP) that it affects a certain play style it will be fixed.
Right now the difference in PvE especially is negligible at best.
Plus let’s say you picked x covenant as you wanted that extra .1% advantage and then they nerf your covenant so you are at .1% disadvantage how mad will you be when you have to do your renown again in the new covenant ? Only FOTM players are affected by the minimal difference.

I picked it for fairies  to match my transmog lol and it was the best looking zone / story in my opinion.

Sure, you can, but does it make you feel better that by picking NF as a VDH you are affectively forcing yourself to spend an extra 10-20 mins daily on your daily chores than if you chose Kyrian? Think of all the hours your gonna lose of your life just cause you didn’t choose Kyrian?

Now what if you could just choose Elysian Decree as a talent and still get your fairies and story from NF like you wanted? Wouldn’t that be better?

My dailies take me max 30 minutes every morning ( start them at 8 and done by 8:30 and logged into work systems by 8:45)

Blizz just needs to let people swap freely between soulbinds and covenant abilities. Some are impossible to bring in line with others simply because of how they function (eg spear of bastion will never be as good as condemn in a single target setting).
Maybe gate it behind getting max rep so thematically it makes some sense that you can use another covenants abilities. The system as it stands now is too punishing

Weapons of Order being a 15% DPS increase over the Monk Venthyr ability is not a playerbase-created problem. Oh my lord what an ignorant take.

If Legion and Battle for Azeroth are anything to go by, it’ll be “fixed” in 9.3

If they got rid of scaling, then the natural power progression would take care of that as a matter of course. There would literally be a point where moving up the “difficulty” ladder was a choice.

There’s a report out, now, from the Blizzard API.

Convoke is the funnest and bestest druid button.
Take it away and there will be a conga line out of Ardenweald.

Applause please.

Absolutely true, therefore it must never be done or talked about publicly.

Tsk tsk. It absolutely matters if you don’t run with a guild or set group.

Summing up what a bad or bad-feeling button press will do to people.

If it’s not worse, then we have either it’s equal or better, and I’m pretty sure better balanced covenants would be better for the game than it being equal to it’s current state. So why would you be against balancing covenants if you yourself said it wouldn’t be worse then it currently is.

Right now it sucks for people who chose for aesthetics over power. There’s no reason to favor either of the groups, especially if favoring one of them means the game is in a worse state.

They are already balanced, working as intended.

I would like to see your source for that 80% stat. I imagine it is more like 20% who are playing a covenant they don’t like just because of min/max issues.

I would have picked Night Fae regardless on my druid because it is a skinner for that one follower perk. Plus I liked the idea of that garden.

I don’t know but they are working in the next patch now. If they plan to expand the current system it’s unlikely to make significant changes now because it will cause readjustments in the work they have done for the next patch.
Another problem is what is going to happen if the bis covenants change in the next patch, forums will be on fire. Even if they balance them that leaves a lot of players unhappy because they choose something they didn’t like because covenants weren’t balanced from the start.

The problem is, the balance that most players seem to want really isn’t balance. That kind of ‘balance’ wouldn’t be good for the game.

The covenant abilities also need to be balanced with the classes and the abilities they already have. Since this is a team based game, classes are suppose to have strengths and weaknesses.

Rubbish.

Its the devs mess not ours. If we had any say in any of development process the majority would’ve voted against the idea of Covenants and their restrictions.

Already bought my

I would say more would remain happy as did not choose based on FOTM

It is a player issue. Just because something is more powerful does not mean you have to pick it.

That’s also an issue for unholy dk right now. Venthyr and Maldraxxus is actually the meta covenants for me, but I decided to leave Maldraxxus for Kyrian, however, everyday I regret no taking the step to go for Venthyr because I know that at some point later in the expansion the mastery buff from the Kyrian Soulbind isn’t going to hold up at all compared to the free trinket 20% haste from thrill seeker and the runic power building from swarming mists.

It’s going to be a rough one if Blizzard doesn’t do any meaningful tuning adjustments as we move forward through the expansion :frowning:
