I’m just so burnt out from work. I think I’ll spend the morning watching Saturday morning cartoons on YouTube with the old commercials while eating Frosted Flakes.
Pro tip: Only call out of work on Tuesdays. This gives you a valid reason to complain on the forums about the maintenance times.
Never respect the grind more than the grind respects you.
This is actually brilliant, I’m stealing it.
You’re scheduled to work on Saturday? Sad feelings for you.
Yeah join the club. It’s normal the feeling will pass
Your generation is too soft Kiddo
When I was a kid in HS.
Im an adult now. Nothing short of I’m incapacitated in the hospital is a reason to call out of work.
If I’m not in the hospital I’m at work. No exceptions
Have you tried being unemployed like many of these forum warriors?
Please, work is where I do my best posting.
Tell us your excuse to call in. We can help make it more believable.
Back in 1841, I played hook Jack. I was a real bad egg. I hornswaghled a trunk of doubloons from a Philadelphia lawyer who parked his skiff on the RIO. We were dancing on the strand really shining all we could. Alas, a bevy of burly murlocs knaved their way onto the skiff. I fought them for 3 days with me fish hook
Poor Jack. That was the last time.
Whenever the hell I want. Slaves to the grind are chumps.
Did you wear an onion on your belt, as was the style of the times?
I call it a mental health day when I need to burn a PTO day for no other reason than “I just can’t today “.
Luckily I truly don’t think the boss cares he doesn’t question any reason but at the same time over all my attendance is excellent and I am good at my job don’t give the boss headaches etc.
I genuinely call in a mental health day maybe 3 times a year.
I did. And we ate field potatoes on our way to school uphill in hurricanes both ways with rabid foxes chasing us.
Back then I was armed with me skillet.
9 years ago. Still playing hooky.
Bout 6 years probably? I haven’t called in for the sake of calling in since I worked part time at Walmart (because why would I not use my allotted # of call ins per quarter to play WoW on occasion?)
I don’t really do that for current job. It would just put me behind. I have like a month of vacation I’ll never use because it’d be more of a hassle to come back afterward than the break would be worth.
When I was still in the work force, I would occasionally take a “mental health” day. Sometimes you just need it. As to when this occurred, I couldn’t possibly tell you.
last time i did the " hooky "
i was working at walmart.
called in sick.
went on a bike ride to get spaghetti sauce.
Got hit by a car.
two weeks after, got fired from walmart… the third party company who takes care of medical viewed it as a " fraudulent medical claim " even tho the forehead gash was fresh.
Nearly got evicted…
Settlement on the accident helped stand back up.
Dont play hooky. idk why but this world has a reallllly weird curse system.
Nah, unless I’m sick or one of the family is sick I go to work.
