After having completed the first part of the quest, I cannot find the whelps which need comforting, and am getting killed like every 5 minutes.
I’ve been to Wowhead, but the only mention is the portal which makes the dragons reappear - no whelps.
I must be doing something wrong, but cannot figure out what it may be. Can anyone here help me out?
Thanks

The first part of the mission, killing the ads covers a large territory. The whelps are there but only in one part of the area.
When I did it on my druid last week, the whelps were to the far right (if you’re standing FACING the area where the quest giver is).
They’re little greenish dragons just floating and wandering around.
Run the full area and you’ll find them.

Aedred, thank you VERY much for the reply. Still looking and meanwhile, I’ve run “The Betrayal” successfully, but just a couple of questions to you or anyone who cares to answer:
-
I got the coords to where the whelps should be (wowhead), but they’re not in that area.
-
Should I try disabling the adds?
-
I do see the “Food” animals running around, do I need to “fill up” on them before the whelps are visible?
There IS a 'basin" of sorts guarded by an elite at the aforementioned coords. Does the elite need to be killed and can I ask for help killing him.
I know that’s more than a couple of questions, but at this point I honestly can’t run this expak without help and this is where I come to (hopefully) get it.
Thanks

My memory of the details for this are a little hazy. Take the following with a grain or two of salt.
I do not remember having to do anything special before being able to comfort the whelps. I did have to run around for a bit to find them, and once managed to leave the area on accident. I had to enter the vision again in order to progress the quest.
Just to verify, are you looking at the whelps shown on the map here?

Hasylla, thank you and yes, 62 48 is where the map shows they should be and that is where the elite patrols. Could there be a mistake on wowhead’s part? Because if I need to re-enter the vision, then that puts me some distance away from the wowhead location.
You will have to be in the vision to see the whelps. If you left the area at some point, the way I did on accident one time, then yes you’ll need to enter it again.
I agree with Aedred’s advice. Run the full area and you should be able to find them. Once you find one the rest are quick to follow.
So just to be clear, running back into the vision will show those big, golden dragons again, and I will need to avoid those as well as the other NPC’s to get to the whelps? Not trying to be deliberately obtuse, Hasylla. I’ve just been killed about 20 times and want to make sure I’m not missing anything.
Yes, that is correct. You have to be in the vision to complete this step. You either have to move around, or clear a path through, those golden dragons if they are in your way.
Here is a video that shows what it should look like. I only skimmed it, but the part you are interested in is around 3:20.

I did it!!! Thank you, Aedred and thank you, Hasylla!!!
If this helps anyone, I’ll describe what I did to make myself a “Comforter” (of whelps).
First, go to Advanced Sytem and jack up “Brightness” and “Contrast” as far to the right as they will go. Believe me, I needed it - my 71 year old eyes needed it!
After entering the vision I went as far to the Quest Giver’s RIGHT as I could get. You’ll have to kill a few dragons and NPC’s, but at least you can see them coming!
Hug that mountain as much as you can as you make your way Northwest until you see TWO HUGE green dragons (one marked “daughter” and then look to the east. You’ll see the whelps floating there.
Comfort, rinse and repeat x 6.
I didn’t bother going back the same way, but hearthed back to Bastion and then taxied back to Ardenweald to turn in my quest.
I know: Not the way you two would have done it, but it worked for me.
Thanks Again!

Happy to help a fellow mage
It worked for you, and that is what mattered. Enjoy the rest of what follows in the story.
Edited to correct your name, Aedred!
lol. No worries man. Call me anything you want just don’t call me late for supper as my Nanny used to say
It was legitimately my favorite part of the initial storyline. I remember the gut punch feeling when Ysera died in Legion. Seeing her brought back brought a warm feeling to my cold, dead heart.
I had to go back and correct the spelling of Ol’ Jonãs’ name too. Both of us being “Veterans Of The Fourth War”, and getting up in years, we kinda have to remind each other of important stuff like that.
Once he had to remind me to pay the alts, who get a 200 gold payday every Friday (if they work or not) with a 200 gold bonus if they level up one.
In “real time” it keeps my cognitive senses a little sharper to work with the alts who, of course, have different weaponry and spells.
I know: TMI, right? Can’t help it though - I just really love communicating with you guys either here or ingame. Makes my day to make a new friend.
All the best
