Almost 400 pulls on the guardian challenge. Spent over 360k in consumables and gear because people jacked the prices up. I’ve had that damn demon down to 4k health so many times I can’t even count.
I tried every combination of gear, talents, trinkets etc from shadowlands stuff to M SoO and trinkets from EM- and just can’t seem to eek out the W on this one. Did the mage tower in legion no problem, multi glad player so like to think I’m at least okayish at the game.
I admit defeat not because I wouldn’t keep trying but because I now must travel for a work trip that will span the rest of the time the encounter is up. I imagine blizzard will tune this just slightly. Sadly it’ll be too late for me.
My favorite was the random inconsistencies- inferals spawning and attacking the healer, sometimes the P1 netherspawn adds wouldn’t be tethered together and one would just go aoe the poor bro. Eyes spawning in the pillar so you can’t tab target them. Orb hitboxes…
If only they beta tested this…oh wait.

Try to grab the hilt from second boss night hold! It has a cheat death snd ilevel is the same across all difficulties. I’m at 10% attempts and failed cause velon died cause the adds no matter how many times I swiped would not lay off him.
And yeah it’s just a mess. What’s the point of ptr just for them to not fix / buff stuff?

I feel ya man, im only at some 80+ pulls, but 88K in repairs, mats, and scrolls just to get RNJesus’d by animations that don’t line up, or eyes that spawn in places that LoS 90% of the platform.
I’ve played this game and druids for over 16 years, and honestly i’ve never felt like a worse player than right now.

Just hit 201 pulls. Few pulls at 3% or lower, lowest being 1.5%. It just feels like you need certain gear and a ton of money to buy consumables in order to complete it. I keep trying knowing I won’t get it but I am about to quit doing it. It’s really demoralizing when you see streamers pulling for hours on end with no luck as well. I think every kill I have seen was with the Bear dying.

Yeah nearly every successful pull the bears died and the npcs finished the fight.

Why not just wait until 9.2 and your double legendary or is this mage tower thing temporary
I did it! Attempt number 205… The trick was that I used Lust at the start of P2, then used Berserk and Unbridled when the 1st set of Nether Horrors spawned. It made things so much easier and downed it the 1st time I did that versus using Lust/Unbridled and Berserk all at once

They really should have just made a base template for each spec too work off of and balance the fights to those base templates. It would have bee alot more enjoyable and skill-based instead of this cheesy trash.
If you’ve gotten the boss that low, then it’s 100% doable for you and either a small gear upgrade or just a tiny bit more streamlining will get it for you.
Although you can also wait and it will just get nerfed. They over-buffed it the tiniest bit for the target audience
Had this happen to me three times straight recently. Pillar eyes are scary!
By all accounts, almost everyone was beating them on the PTR. While difficult, very much so doable (more so than now), and that’s why they decided to buff it. Too high of a success rate on the PTR.
Buff seemed a bit ridiculous according to those who did the PTR mage tower.
So not so much “for the target audience” but more so because it was too easy in general.
/shrug. I’m happy to see people completing it before it gets nerfed though
hoping to get some more time to try it myself

potions of unbridled fury at almost 1k gold each on my server, and I’m not pay ing that much gold. You shouldn’t have to be buying consumables just to beat it. Hell I didn’t need consumables back when I did it in Legion. It’s severely overturned and I’m just going to boycott it until they fix it. Having to buy certain pots and drums and gear with gem slots isn’t “making the game more fun and challenging”.
It’s just obnoxious and poor gameplay design.
Btw use your leggo from legion after shoving some relics in it. You can double up on enchants doing that! I had lightless force on the main hand and sinful on the offhand. It made a HUGE difference.

Because you did the easy version. GG though

I have spent over 200k gold on gear and consumables. I like a challenge but you should absolutely not have to change your current ilvl gear just to get close. I have 11k health and randomly the second annihilate will take me to 1% health with barskin and 3 ironfir up, sometimes it doesn’t 2 out of 5 times its like he gets a crit and just crushes me. I did this back in the day. Took me 130 attempts but the entire time it felt doable. I’m over that many attempts now and lowest I have gotten him was 15%.

You have to use bark on the first one and second one use survival inst and third use surv with 3 irons + bark if it’s back up. 4th use orbs and disorient roar to constantly interrupt it while hitting him. You can also use some kind of cheat death trinket (sl has a version I forget where to get it) to help with the later ones.
Edit: the first one doesn’t hit as hard. The more stacks there is, the more it hits for and that’s why survival inst for that is more important than bark for the second one. If you use it on the first one, it should (in theory) be up for the third one and if not you can use an orb while he’s casting the third to delay it if need be. The first one you can use bark and if timed right, adds should be coming out too, so if you have brambles it will help.
Just wanted to update that I was able to get a few more pulls in between work travel. He is finally dead. Just keep at it folks! One big difference that helped me a lot was rooting the first inferal so I could just focus on doing damage P1.
If I can do this. You can do this. I believe in you all my druid brothers and sisters
Best wishes

You can actually live 5 annihilates if you use cds properly with no tank trinkets.
The first two only require ironfurs
Third can be lived with bark and iron fur
4th you can use survival instincts and iron fur and 5th you can stack bark, survival, and fur. You shouldn’t need to live that long but you definitely can.
No need to over commit cds. Use the orbs to recover as needed or emergency interrupt horrors in my opinion.

Oh yeah good point, and good idea with the double irons for the first!
For sure! Two furs and the first barely even hurts you. If you’re comfortably on pace for a 4 kill your can commit SI for 3 and 4 and not even use skin as a defensive and instead use it offensively.
