What's Your Wishlist for Player Housing?

What are some things people are hoping for with player housing?

I personally cannot wait for Pandaren style bungalows, especially if we can get a little outside garden.

And I want house NPC’s. Like a dragon sleeping on your amassed pile of riches or a flirty pandaren barmaid.

I’ll need to see how my first attempt at a house works out before I can really make a wish list.

But crafting tables (if we are going to continue using them) would be nice so I won’t have a conflict of interest over where my logout location will be.

  1. Lots of different bookshelves to make it feel like a library in almost every room.
  2. Variety of bottles, mugs, and steins for table placement.
  3. Different styles of beds, couches, and armchairs based on races.
  4. Technical gizmos to put on a workbench in my Gnome and Goblin homes.
  5. A selection of fireplace hearths and mantles similar to different taverns and locations.
  6. Pet beds where clicking one allows you to summon a pet to curl up and sleep in it.
  7. A place for Jeeves (engineering) to put him on display without the bank or vendor access.
  8. A small hitching post outside where a single, standard race mount could be parked.
  9. A dungeon journal section that mentions where to find Decos in the content.

These are just the top few. I am SO glad there will be no professions or progressions. Just pure decorations. Not even a mailbox. :heartpulse:

  1. Placing my characters inside the home, poses, positions, emoting.
  2. Collect dungeons, raid, and world boss models as furnishing to place.
  3. Blocks of water, grass field, dirt ramps, rolling hills, dirt mounds, rocky walls.
  4. Skyboxes for ceilings. I need outdoor like areas not just all indoors.
  5. Waygates / waypoints to travel around the home.
  6. Weather / time of day controls.
  7. Transparent windows, I’ve only seen light source windows so far.

Having 100 of my battle pets of my choice spread out through my entire house.

There was a thread about this the other day and someone said unconventional “houses,” which I’d also love to see. For example, instead of having a traditional door you’d have a portal and the inside of your “house” would look like a little forest glade that you could decorate like a small camp or even build your own little hut inside. A cave/barrow den would be another example.

A lot of Pandaren, Venthyr, Gilnean, Undead, Nightborne and other creepy items to use and display in additional to what we are already getting.

The ability to assign alts to our home, as I plan to have different bedrooms for a handful of them.

Able to have a BUNCH of battle pets roaming around of our choosing, not just random ones like our Garrisons.

A stable and/or driveway for our mounts.

Able to choose hunter pets and warlock demons we want roaming around or assigned to certain areas of our home, inside or out.

The ability to make an extremely dark room with literally the only light coming from whatever light source is in there, like a singular candle in the corner. It seems like we’ll have environment lighting to see what we are doing while building, but would be cool if we could toggle that off in rooms so we only have the lighting from the sources we put in there.

Different sky boxes instead of a ceiling, like space or the void or a blue sky etc

A way to maybe have our entrance basically be on the “2nd” floor, so we can have a basement. There is probably a way to do this if you kind of have stairs going up right as you go in with walls so you can’t go anywhere but up, then on the other side of the room having stairs going down to the basement/dungeon. I think I just solved my own ask, lol.

For the outside, a way to have a porch up a few stairs

A way to go out a door from the inside on the second or third level and be on an upstairs porch or balcony.

A way to get onto the roof so you can hang out and watch the stars.

Probably a lot more, but I still there, for now, lol.

A bit hard to come up with a list for all of them but this is a list of my top details I want to see.

1.NPC Visitors relaxing in my house (no matter if they would be alive or dead during current timeline of the story)
2.Decorations base on each of the Dragonflights (especially the Blue, Bronze and Infinite)
3.armor/weapon stands (for decorating with things I’ve collected as transmog.)
4.outdoor theme detail (able to make a room look some what like as if it was outside even though it is clearly inside.)
5.lots of crystal decorations
6.decorative hearthstones
7.Holiday decorations

Down the road, I would love the ability to set up NPCs, books to read, things like that. Hell, let me make NPCs you can talk to.

I want a blank open lot with nothing in it. I want it to be large enough to be able to build a realtively large city-scape environment. I want to pick the terrain, lighting, skybox, weather, and music, and I wand a decor limit that is high enough to allow me to create without restriction.

In a nutshell: I  Want  Wildstar  Housing

I’d like to have a glowing summoning circle in my basement, just for aesthetic reasons!

I want to see things that actually affect the game, which in turn will affect whether or not I give a flying crap about housing. What I mean is, access to:

  • Crafting
  • Vending/repairs
  • Transmog
  • Banking/storage
  • Auction house

Otherwise, what’s the point? I already have a garrison that does those things (minus the new crafting tables). Decorating and being forced to live in a neighborhood while surrounded by annoying people… I get to experience that in real life already.

Unless I can stick my house in some remote location away from civilization and have access to all the things my garrison already does, or at the very least, new crafting… then it’s DoA for me.

I thought they already confirmed it won’t have crafting/AH/power things tied to it.

The entire point is cosmetic, like transmog and achievements.

I hope we have favelas where pvp is always on.

  1. WATER FEATURES—aquariums, ponds, waterfalls, and similar stuff. Bonus points if we can acquire different fish to put in them. I’d personally love to have a koi pond with a little bridge going over it, or to be able to use aquariums as a sort of partition to separate rooms or floors, like the one in the Gallagio spiral staircase.
  2. I’m sure we’re going to get all sorts of decorations for holiday events. It’d be really convenient if there were a way to decorate my house with them and then set the holiday decorations to only appear when that holiday is active (or during a certain month, or some other parameters that we can define) and are invisible otherwise. It’d make putting up and taking down holiday decorations a lot easier.
  3. As others have suggested, ways to make fake outdoor spaces would be nice. Either a room with skybox for a ceiling, or a glass ceiling with a skybox visible through it. I’ve already been planning to make a fake glass dome ceiling in my house by rotating and scaling a bunch of windows, but I don’t know how good the effect will look without being able to see the sky through the windows.
  4. The option to make a basement. Instead of starting on floor 1 and only being able to stack rooms on top, we can start on the ground floor and be able to put floors above or below.
  5. I’ve seen there’s a left-curving staircase room and right-curving staircase room. Is it possible to stick these two rooms together to make a grand staircase, or will there still be a wall separating them if I do that? If it’s the latter, I think a big room with a grand staircase in the middle would be a nice option to have.

Maybe, like, picture frames with some stuff you can find or buy? Tapestries? Knick-knacks and kitsch you can put on shelves.

sort of like stealing art objects from OD&D to AD&D2E to cash in the gold for EXP and like… putting them in your stronghold, but it’s just cosmetic neatness in WoW
