You come back at it again with alts. Maybe an army of alts, if you must.
Currently, I’m working on the gilded wader pet that supposedly drops from the chests in Bastion. The thing eludes me and I’ve starting sending in my alt army to attempt to get it…
Sister Chelicerae of Maldraxxus repute also refuses to drop the pet I do desire. I kill her over and over and when she asks the zone, “Who issss that knocking at my door?” Rest assured; its me knocking at her door.

The Zulian Tiger but that’s mostly just checking the BMAH and being mildly disappointed its not on there so I don’t know if it counts as “working on it”.

Galleons saddle, gave up after roughly 2400 kills (give or take 100) screw sub 1% drop rates and no bad luck protection

I’ve been waiting for the Headless Horseman mount since the first time it became available. Admittedly, I wasn’t always sub’d, and missed a good handful of them. But some years, I’d run it at least 5 times a day the whole event and still come up empty handed.
Is '22 the year? Won’t hold my breath. The last time I did it, each character had like 20 minute queues. I don’t have that kind of time these days, so just once a day on this character will have to suffice.

I haven’t read moby dick, but is there a parallel to burning out on your white whale and refusing to participate?
Time lost proto broke me back in wotlk. I once stayed up 27hrs (late teens, no responsibility) trying to get it and I flew past it in the wrong direction and saw someone get it who had only just landed at a FP to go do his dailies.
I vowed to never waste time on such nonsense again.

I’m not sure, but I eventually gave up as well. Now they sell the kill in trade chat, so that’s what I did for TLPD, Aeonax and Gray Camel.
Time is money and my gold just saved me tons of time.

I hope there’s a character that calls Ahab silly and decides to just stay home with his family and only goes to sea for cruise holidays instead of back breaking work.

Hmm got my scarlet tabard on my pally after 3 months of being tilted at its absurdly low droprate
Right now I guess my white whale would be 1 hander weapons on my DK and enhance sham,they are quite elusive so far this season
Also keep taking shots at the infernal mount from mythic guldan, but not getting my hopes up any time soon

It doesn’t even have that low of a drop rate, but for some reason it just doesnt show up for me.
I got Invincible first. Somehow that dropped, and this damned pink shirt won’t!
