I’m on the fence between a build entirely on point with single target and specializing a little more into some AoE.
I’ve always loved AoE builds, mowing down multiples is just satisfying as hell, but single target is also pointedly focused in doing way more damage. My interest is in knowing what’s the most popular or preferred? “Meta” if you will?

You either go all in on aoe or all in on single target. You change them based on the content you’re doing. Sometimes you can flex a few points to have a bit of everything but it won’t be nearly as strong as just full sending one direction.
That’s what I’m worried about, if I hybridize it too much I could be losing out on dps and that’s not what I’m in favor of doing. Feral has always seemed to be like a single target type of dps like rogue but it has cleave abilities that could be capitalized on and this is what confuses me about which direction to go.
Do I optimize on these cleave abilities or do I forgo them in favor of using more single focused attacks? That sort of thinking.
I have two builds, one for single target and one for multi target. The multi target playstyle feels much more satisfying to play imo when it comes to out of instance play.
I’ll only switch to single target if I’m standing in front of a boss in a raid I think. Lol

Yea a pure single target build is going to be few and far between. I raided in S1 of DF and the only boss I used it on was Terros. Every other fight was mostly the same; Just pick up the best combination of single target/multi-target talents.
