I am going to use a boost on a horde character and thinking ranged DPS for this go 'round. Wondering what some community favorites are.
You won’t get a straight answer. Not from here.
If you really want to use a boost on a character for ranged DPS, this is something only you can decide — something you’re choosing to be passionate about.
Otherwise you’re just taking a very cheap way of boosting a “top tier” DPS class without learning it.
I like playing Attimis not because I get to play with fire, or pyromancy, but instead because mages are said to be extremely intelligent. I’d like to relate a lot of the times.
My personal favorite is Marksmanship Hunter, I have several of them because I enjoy leveling and playing them so much!
If you like arms warrior (I know this character is fury) and you want to be ranged then I think you will like Marksmanship 
For me its hunter (BM is my preference) since it plays more like melee than a caster, for the most part.
Hunter because it’s the easiest to be effective with while remaining mobile.
Honorable mention to Warlock.
Mage, Shadow and Balance are boring. Mage in particular is just a tedious class.

Elemental is fun and Shaman allows for some flexibility with melee DPS and healing if that makes any difference for you.
Umm, if you’re new to ranged dps, roll a hunter.

Main thing is do you want 1 range spec option or more? If you want just 1 you got shaman, priest, druid. If you want 2 or more you got hunter, mage, warlock.

you can never go wrong with warlock… if you want to start out with a ranged dps, i would highly recommend warlock.

It’s really subjective. For me it’s Frost Mage and Marksmanship Hunter, but destro warlock is a lot of fun too.

Hunter because I can move, jump or spin while shooting at the same time. I’m a very restless individual, standing still is not my thing. Reason I play Feral is so I can attack while on the move, jump in the air and rotate while thrashing. It has no strategy benefit, I just like moving.
Shadowpriest is my favorite to play but it’s not practical because it’s a very undesired spec.
