The Highland Drake. Sometimes I will use another mount but I really like my drake. I have the white scales and that gold color armor and I think it looks great for my paladin.
The ancient that changes with the seasons is pretty neat. Eve’s broom that has instant cast during Hollow’s Eve, great for gathering due to small profile. And the fish that is both aquatic and flies.
Rivendare’s Deathcharger, because getting it is my favorite WoW moment.
About a week before Wrath launched the new talent trees had been released and were in effect. My arms warrior saw Bladestorm and was instantly all gimme gimme. I spent more time than I could count in Strath during classic, and as a test I wanted to try to solo it using the new talents. Now scaling was a different beast then, so even at level 70 soloing Strath was no easy task. I had to plan my approach, evade what pats I could, pull a group and Bladestorm them down, then wait for it to recharge before pulling another group of any size. The bosses weren’t too hard, the abomination wave was a challenge, but I got there.
Now at the time there was a quest to get tier 1.5 armor still in the game, and part of that involved clearing Strath in 45 minutes. And what do you know, I got there at exactly 45 minutes. There was actually a visual for it, Rivendare would turn to the hostage and drain life her to death. But I charged him and interrupted it just in time. Then it was use potions, use all my abilities, save Bladestorm for the skeleton summons, and everything else but I killed him, barely. And then looted him and there it was, the Deathcharger’s Reins, on my first kill. And I wasn’t even going for them. I got a big gratz since achievements had also just been added and so it was broadcast to the guild. Then the next day or so during a for fun Karazhan run the Arcanite Ripper dropped and I got it too. My warrior still rides the Deathcharger and still has the Ripper in hand, busting out a solo whenever a raid is finished.
Everyone was quick to abandon theirs when dragonriding became available on other mounts. I really like the Highland Drake too. He’s customizable and I love the flight animations.
My favorite mounts are whichever ones have realistic flight physics. A little jolt backwards upon opening wings, wings folding correctly, feathers ruffling in the wind, stuff like that.
