What's your craziest WoW story or favorite memory?

So I just started day drinking, and I got stuck on nostalgia road for this game. From the time I managed to Chi torpedo off the edge of the platform on my BRM on Mythic Gul’dan when I was the last one up and the boss was at 1% health, to when my old raid leader would have crashouts mid-raid about their mom, or someone from my guild showed up at my doorstep one day saying they really wanted to meet me and they thought we were meant to be, or just meeting some of my closest friends who friggin left me to play other games.

What is your craziest or just favorite World of Warcarft story?

Sixteen years ago next month, my wife went into labor because she got furious during an AV match. She was about right on time. The best part? I was in the same battle on the other side and kept finding her.

In Wrath, I played a hunter and loved collecting rare pets. When the first round of spirit beasts came out, I caught all of them rather easily, except Loque’nahak. I spent three months camping for him, waking up in the middle of the night, setting alarms, etc. I was like 12-13 years old at the time so I had to go to school during the day. My mom also played WoW, and one night she decided to hover at one of the spawn points while waiting for raid to start. Lo and behold, he spawned. She screamed up the stairs for me to get down here ASAP and I barreled down the stairs in a towel. I left my shower for this. Finally caught him, after all those months, and my mom was the one who technically found him for me.

I have a lot of tattoos, and I wanted to get a WoW tattoo, but not something basic like a Horde logo or class emblem. So now I have a Loque on my shoulder. Definitely my favorite WoW memory, for the game’s sake and for the moment I had with my mom. Still have him on my hunter too.

I was online during the infamous Illidan Funeral Crash, from the Alliance guild “Serenity Now”, back in Vanilla.

It was early 2006, like April or something.

TLDR- A guildmate in a Horde guild died IRL, and they decided to hold a funeral in-game at the hot springs in Winterspring, on Illidan- a PvP server.

Ofc, Alliance attacked.

Most Horde were wearing RP gear with no stats, so it was a slaughter.

And I was Horde, no less.

I wasn’t 60 yet (was high lvl 40’s or low lvl 50’s at the time), but I got my butt over to Winterspring because all Horde were rallying to get revenge on the Alliance that attacked.

I wanted to help in any way I could, lol.

I don’t think I actually did anything, but I do remember the outrage all over the server and chat channels.

And I remember seeing all the skeletons, though.

So much chaos- it makes me sad we’ll never see something similar to it again, due to CRZ and phasing.

I’d post a video, but all of them are pretty vulgar and have aged kinda poorly lol. (Edgy teens and early 2000’s humor.)

It was probably single-handedly the most controversial thing that’s happened on Illidan, in its entire server history.

It was also one of those things that cemented me as a Horde player early on- those evil Alliance, they must pay!

My favorite WoW memory is everything before Demon Hunters were added to the game

In TBC I was messing around with my Lock Main. I did nothing but stack Shadow Power gear, all greens and blues.

My guild was hanging out just outside of town, one of our other locks maxed out in PVP gear challenged me to a duel. I got off the fear, he didn’t, and he got annihilated.

Everyone went nuts because of the gear difference, it was lucky, but still felt good.

I cannot be held liable for my own ignorance.

Absolutely melting a Draenei Shaman in a WSG match. This was back in the day when Warrior still had Retaliation. Me and this Draenei Shaman went 1v1 in the middle of the map. I popped Retaliation and they happened to proc Windfury at the same time. Queue the “guess I’ll die” meme.

Kind of cliche, but just the old days running around Stormwind and Ironforge back when they were packed all the time. Walking into Stormwind for the first time. Watching duels outside Ironforge on weekend mornings. My best memories are from long ago now.

Back in late BC, on Dragonblight, back when it was hoppin, guild raid group was bored. We teamed up with another full raid group, and portaled into Stormwind.

Instructions were- not to kill or fight. We just put up picniks, umbrellas, and used every toy we had, and danced- if killed, just ran back and partied some more.

Huge mounds of dancing Horde all over Stormwind… much fun was had!

In shadowlands I think it was we had a raider that lived in a rural area with really bad internet. He would die and we would see his corpse sliding around on the floor.

At one point he died on a boss fight and we cleared to the next boss. It was at least 5 minutes later and we could hear on discord that he was still on the prior boss fight. I don’t even understand how that is possible. We all had a good laugh

Epic Palladin trotted of the docks in Menathil and landed is horse in the water short of the boat and his horse made that woosh woosh , shrinking noise when they dismount.

I laughed so hard.

I don’t have individual memories that I go back and get nostalgic about… it’s honestly and it may be lame or cliche, but it’s just gaming with the boys… raiding, m+ or pvp, those are the memories I look at most fondly… no individual ones.

So this was in Wrath, I was doing the quest to create Crusader’s Pinnacle, and who should show up but a Horde Blood Elf Paladin. Now I could swear he attack me first(but who knows maybe I accidentally hit him) suffice to say it became a full brawl between us but after a few minutes we realized “hey neither of us are dying” apperently the quest has a buff that heals players so they become unkillable to the undead mob.

Suffice to say we eventually stopped and decided to finish the quest and went our separate ways. I always found it poetic and a summary of WoW’s story.

I was scrimping and saving everything i could to get a mount. I was in Tanaris. Killing the enemies by the water side because their junk loot was the highest selling loot to vendor for the level tier. I remember the final shell i vendored for that 1k gold.

Second favorite. One of rarest tames for hunters in the game at the time was a 72 hour spawn. The white skinned flying serpent. The only model of its kind at the time. I was up for 4 days trying to gnab it. When i finally did i logged off and crashed.

When my whole guild got perma banned because some of them decided to cheat in wrath, took me 4 weeks of arguing with blizz to get my chars back.

Back in the day in Vanilla, I was having a ball leveling an alt Shadow priest Undead female of course. I was about level 45 and some level 60 Night Elf hunter was attacking NPCs over by the Sepulcher in Silverpine forest ( a small horde outpost with a flight path) anyway, I decided to attack and ended up killing this level 60 hunter he tried to flee but I think might of been a fresh level 60 cause they really didn’t have good gear.

Oh and this was when only Undeads got Devouring plague as a spell, which we all know was broken asf back then. :joy:
