Nerfing raid drop’s, TW raid worthless conduits that seem to fill the RNG void for loot i mean, jesus why so anti loot?
This bugs me too. Conduits are not exciting… lol
probably because of the “WE HATE LOOT” threads from last expansion, lol
They do not want people to get the gears so quick and get bored, as they are still developing the next patch. This expansion is obviously rushed.
How long they need to develop…, they had more than 2 years
Their reasoning seems to be because they took out titanforging, they have to starve you of loot so you’ll keep playing the game.
Couple problems with that:
1: You awarded more loot than this before Titanforging existed and it somehow did not break the game. Odd there.
EDIT: Actually this is roughly equivalent to the amount of loot awarded in Dragon Soul LFR… and when people complained about that you said it awarded less because it was easier content that didn’t require organization to complete… so now you’re just doing it to everything.
2: People playing the game for weeks or months at a time and not being rewarded makes people stop playing, not play more.
As an extra note: Why in the world did you nerf TIMEWALKING raid loot of all things. So y’know Nathria? Only SL raid available? Been out for a few weeks now? You’ve heard of it I’m sure. Well here’s the difference between Nathria and a timewalking raid… you ready? … You can do Nathria more than once.
A timewalking raid is available for the duration of the timewalking event and no more, so one week out of a month… and that’s it… then it’s swallowed up again until that particular timewalking event rolls around again. I don’t know off the top of my head how many of those there are now but I’d imagine it’s going to take a good long while for Ulduar to roll around again. And you got one bite at that apple… and they nerfed the loot from it. WHY? It awarded ilvl 200 stuff… it’s the equivalent of normal Nathria… and you can do it once. What’s the damn point of nerfing that?
It’s to go along with the Anti-Fun, Anti-Flying, Anti-Casual, Anti-Balanced, Anti-Ranged game Blizzard has envisioned for us all to enjoy.
What RNG on gear did was keep hope alive that even if you have the best gear, there’s always a chance you can get even better versions of those pieces so running all content was still viable. If they kept the drop rates the same right now, you’d gear up WAY too fast and wont really have a point to run anything because theres a zero percent chance you can get anything better.
Personally i prefer RNG on gear over just not see’ing gear drop. Its virtually the same thing i just think from a fun standpoint RNG on gear is more fun. But everyone is different.
Except so what? It’s ok to be done with a piece of content. Odds are excellent there’s harder content for most people to progress through and gear up from for months of their time.
Remember that titanforging did not always exist and people still progressed through raid tiers and difficulties without it and stayed subscribed.
LOL omg omg omg!!! hahahahahahah … Ok i can see their theory (not gearing you super fast so gear loses its value) being applicable IF the game is stable and you can slowly invest in building up one character. If its going to be miserable gearing one toon whos gonna bother with alts?
In the current state of the game people want alts. At any time your class/spec/existence in wow can just get deleted and for no good reason other than “balance”
WHY TF would I want to spend 6 months investing in 1 character that can just get gutted overnight. With the elitist meta crap good luck with your raiding endeavors if your class is trash lol
Hyperbole isn’t a generally useful hobby.
No i get it but the way i think Blizzard is looking at it is that they want people to be engaged for the entire patch. Being on an RNG gear treadmill kept people engaged and running content because that sick sword they have could drop and be even better. Taking RNG off gear you still have to keep people on the gear treadmill so the only real way to do that is just to make it take much longer to gear. It makes sense but i dont think it feels as good as people thought it would. As far as being done with a patch a month or two before another raid tier comes out is kinda meh. Youll have half a raid team with their gear, not showing up to raids, the other half who still needs pieces just kinda left out. Theres many reasons why being “done” with content super early is bad but thats definitely one scenario.
You don’t like getting new ranks of conduits and feeling more powerful!? /s
I think I’ll eventually like conduits but I hate getting them in lieu of loot.
It’s the result of 3 expansions worth of complaints about loot feeling worthless. WoD it was loot is handed to you from Garrison and mission table etc. Legion it was loot is handed to you from Mythic+, Raids, WQ’s, epics don’t feel epic anymore etc. BFA same complaints and plus the Classic hype where everyone was like everything about Classic is better than BFA… which includes loot, which barely dropped at all in Classic. All these years of complaints imho is what lead down the rabbit trail of Blizzard making loot feel scarce so epics feel “epic” again persay. Not saying I agree or disagree with their decision but as a forum lurker for all these years I’m not surprised we got to this point.
No this is the exact reason 100%. Its kinda funny though once they took the community up on wanting to make gear feel special they hand out legendarys made by Mrpooppants.
It’s been 35 anima and a bag full of nothin
Well to be fair, conduits are not actually part of your loot roll. They are on a separate system, much like who the legendary memories don’t count either.
I believe a lot of the Shadowlands design comes from the “success” of WoW Classic servers. Blizzard seems to have seen players play there and thought “People must love extra tedious and ‘busy work’ things!”
Blizz believes two things
- Less loot = loot more valuable
- Titanforging gone = less loot needs to drop because there’s less variance in the gear
feels like Im playing for fun, cause I sure dont get any loot. Only if the game was fun, then after spending 2 hours doing something I just get like anima.
