Blizzard is taking this “inappropriate” guild name thing way too far. We were [Edited by Blizzard]. We have to change it because hordey is sexual even though you can say horny in game. Ok, we’ll change it to Drunk and Dishorderly. Nope, could be viewed as Dis"[Edited by Blizzard]"derly. OK, we’ll change it to Horde my Beer. Again no. [Edited by Blizzard]? Horde is the name you gave us.
TLDR: Blizz won’t allow guild names with the word Horde because it’s too close to [Edited by Blizzard]. I guess now we know how Blizz really feels when they say “For the [Edited by Blizzard]”

That’s… stupid. Full stop, that’s stupid. The Horde is a massive and very visible part of the game and its world. If we’re allowed to see the word in-game, it should be allowed in guild names. Let’s not be hyper-sensitive about things that have a 1% possibility of being dirty.
I mean, I’ve seen at least one player name that gets away with far worse than “Horde.” I’m not pointing it out, because if Blizzard didn’t catch something so obvious, that player deserves to get away with it.
“My name is Todd and I am a Team Manager at Customer Support. Your current selection is not appropriate. It will be read as Drunk and Dis-!@#$%-ly”
the sad part is, it tends to come down on which mod you get that checks out the reporting.
i’ve seen some rather awful names/guilds out there but i can’t wrap my head around this word being ‘bad’ whatever that really means.
as for not allowing the word horde. not sure on that considering herod has a guild named ‘horde’.
blizzard will get to it all. just these over the top controlling people that only want to see what they want to see have flooded blizzard with reports so it’ll take forever to get to it.

I doubt they ban the word “Horde” across the board. Probably just when it’s used in punny innuendo. “Drunk and diswh0rederly” doesn’t even make sense (though it won’t let me post here with the actual word). I don’t know what their rules are, but if I had to guess maybe that was rejected for the “drunk” part?

Man, if that’s what they told you than that’s really dumb. “Dishorderly” doesn’t even sound like innuendo. No one would read it like that.
Man that is a dumb move on Blizzards part, why not just make it so mature language filter filters out guild names or something for the kids or people who dont like it. Heck, just let people play the game how they want

Yeah but I thought the ESRB didn’t rate online interactions for this specific reason? You cant control humans from being human.
Regardless, Teen rating should cover the words wh0re and horny. Both can be said on broadcast TV.
