so i just came back to wow two weeks ago and decided to get some followers for my garrisons in spires of arak for my priest and several other characters and find i can’t because there are packs of druids running around tapping mobs so nobody can do the quests. this wasn’t happening when i last left wow back in legion. what happened between now and then? they are in several important quest bottlenecks. are they bots or multiboxers? this is really damaging to not only the new player experience but anyone who wants to quest. this is happening in multiple questing hubs. not just spires but also talador near the mage tower. nagrand by highmaul. gorgrond in the fen area. is this because blizzard hard nerfed gold from instances a while back so now bots are running around just choking up quest areas?
Those are multi boxers and Blizzard implemented some new policies to combat that practice. If you see something like that in the future, grab one of the toons names and report it to Blizzard.
It is a hot topic now, because many people are glad Blizz is doing something about it, but others think it is wrong in principle, and that it might hurt the gold economy.
You don’t see multiboxers all the time though, I promise.
couldnt you just turn off warmode if it was bothering you so much? or were they getting around warmode somehow?
this has NOTHING to do with warmode. i never have it on.
oh they are resource farming. yea they will most likely go away once the xpac drops. just people with nothing better to do so they set up bot farms all over the place. its sad really. if you can tell they are a bot report them. bots will glitch out on mobs and stuff sometimes or always run in a particular path
this is in wod. they are farming trash fungal protectors not nodes. they just seem to sit there spamming moonfire and starfall. running around killing the exact same mobs over and over. all these mobs drop are rare trash wod greens and mostly grey junk. one set of them is required for a quest chain in spires of arak.
just because its WOD doesnt mean there arent resources to farm there
why are they there then? just to piss off the few people questing thru there? genuinely asking because normally people dont waste time and money for no reason
i honestly dont know. thats why i asked. they spend their time running in circles spam firing moonfire and starfall to tag the fungal giants. only thing i can think of is they are either vendoring the greens for gold. (why? its not that much) or to sell on ah. (again not too much gold to be made there on a dead server like mine). i could see if they were farming mobs that dropped like a mount or something of more value but these mobs just drop greens and a bop quest item for salvage yard. maybe nobody told them they nerfed garrisons.
alot of farms are setup around the spawn rate and not what they actually drop. there also could be something that they drop at a significantly lower rate (less than 1%) that they are farming. In the old days you could just swap realms really quick. if its still a problem later on today find a friend in a different realm and have them invite you to a party. should switch your zone
well i looked at it and it looks like they are farming 5 blue boe’s on those giants that go for tens of thousands of gold. that’s the only thing i can think of. namely the spore shamblers in spires not sure what they are doing farming the ones in nagrand those just drop greens.
you can try just joining a custom raid when you are in the area and then dropping it so you can do the farm. might keep you in that phase so you can farm. sorry you are going thru that. sucks but not much that can be done besides reporting the bots so future farmers dont get hit by them
With the level squish/change of prepatch, alot of those mobs were dropping greys that vendored for alot of raw gold. you could easily make 10k-20k gold an hour doing a 4x2 farm on most any of the fungal areas.
