Scaling be funky, as of yesterday I see no changes, tanks can’t seem to hold aggro, even a renew as a healer draws aggro,so it ping pongs between the roles and people still underestimate these dungeons, I don’t remember wiping as much before TW.

I’ve levelled 5 tanks and a healer through TW dungeons in the past 2 weeks and only a couple of times have there been deaths or a clusterbomb as described here. Are you saying dps are queueing as tanks? If so i could see aggro all over the place but havent had any issues

Yeah, I’ve actually dropped TW 3 times this week because I’d get a tank speed running and swatting everything. I was just running behind trying to keep up. Then when I finally attacked something, I was attacked and died.

Yeah tbh im seeing a lot more op dps in these dungeons than usual timewalking. Maybe just a side effect of it being always up so less people are doing it.

No, they’re low level tanks, and the scaling is so off they do more damage than a level 70 dps, don’t die, yet can’t hold aggro. Saw one low lvl tank pull a quarter of ZF, standing there swiping all of them, but a single attack against them on my ret and I was swarmed and died.

scaling has been bad since shadowlands, blizzard just went the extra mile
and scuffed it in timewalking dungeons. ty blizz for fixing whats not broken!

I dunno a geared out lvl 11 fury “tank” can two shot most mobs if not one shot with just whirlwind and hold threat on a boss. I’ve carried multiple tw with mine with no issues besides those annoying stun using mobs in tbc tw.

These guys you ran into are fakers who saw one of the actually twinked chars with actual enchants and capped stats and wanted to try but don’t know what they are doing.

Never run into this and I’m on character six now leveling in Timewalking.

Would be hilarious to see, though!

A geared level 11 locked xp dps (like a fury warrior) can queue as tank and run through the dungeon killing everything while taking no damage and complete it in a few minutes.

A random level 11 with random gear is also OP, but not immortal one shot trash while in dps spec, though I’ve seen at least one try.

A low 70s in DF S4 gear can also run through pretty easy, I ran a ret pally 70 alt with ~500 ilevel DF gear yesterday and nothing lived more than a few hits while the damage I took was minimal.

Regular geared leveling characters of various levels do reasonably, dps don’t want to get hit and certainly not by a full pack of trash, but tanks can take multiple packs without too much problem.

Some 80s and higher level dps characters with crappy gear do poorly and can get wrecked if anything looks at them, similar level and geared tanks can take most trash in multiple packs with a decent healer, though there are some rough spots and if the healer is also in the same level / gear range, things can go south fast.

Basically scaling sucks - you may get one or more characters that can ignore everything while one hitting trash and killing a boss in a few GCDs at one extreme and then the next run, get a full group of characters that slog through and hope the group doesn’t overpull and wipe.

Do you play horde i can show you lol

Why would they need to hold aggro when the job is getting done

Yep, I play both sides! Can’t be online today though. :slightly_frowning_face:

I’ve seen a few level 10 / level 11 twinks this week and when I inspect them, they have every slot filled with gem socketed gear (at a glance a lot looked like TBC stuff with three sockets), all enchanted, and stuff like weapons that have sockets and or stat procs.

Ah, so people figured out how to Twink Timewalking again. Good for them!

To play a level 11 on repeat like that … bored just thinking about it

I just use it cuz they nerfed the badges from the quest after first time (you get 200 now instead of 500) when they did the scaling. For me it seems faster (my run times are usually less then 5 mins depending on the dungeon) then doing it on my higher lvl toons once for all 13 of them. Esp since they are adding in more things for the same or higher costs :frowning:

They really screwed over 80s with the never-ending scaling - not saying they aren’t simple and easy as a geared 80, but it’s ridiculous that no matter how far above the rewards your gear level, the enemies keep scaling up.

It’s even more ridiculous when a geared level 11 can solo the dungeon in just a few minutes, so I guess I can see why some would want to level lock and gear up a level 11 character to farm badges.

I still have alts to level so will just keep running them on alts, then I’m probably done as I have everything but the newest stuff and am sitting on 100sK of badges from running them on alts to level over the years.
