What's up with the Neural Synapse Enhancer?

As someone that doesn’t PvP, can someone explain what’s up with this random staff from the Mechagon dungeon? This is a super nerf from the March 31 patch notes, so I’m very curious what effect this was having on PvP.

  • Neural Synapse Enhancer stats effect reduced by 90% in PvP combat.

Burst is king in PvP. Mistweavers could use that staff.

Get that, use it, Palpatine lightning someone to death, ez Gladiator.

lmao.

I mean I didnt see anyone using it but every pve item should have similar nerfs in pve. Theres a reason pvp gear exists and its bis in pvp thank god

Most trinkets and items with cantrip effects from PvE are nerfed in PvP.

That staff just gave an insane amount of main stat for a brief burst of time every 45 seconds for the cost of having less stats the rest of the time and seems like they just forgot to apply the PvP nerf to the staff this season.

I know that but theres always an item that escapes the nerfs or isnt nerfed enough or benefits some specs more than others (like the cringe ring from siren isle being bis for fury outlaw etc)

Yes every pve item should continue to have 80+% nerfs in pvp from the moment they hit the PTR

Trinkets are goofy as hell.

PvE trinkets tend to be absurd in terms of power, but in PvP you’re supposed to stick with the 2-piece PvP trinkets for defensive reasons. (You get a stamina boost for having 2 PvP trinkets equipped.)

PvE trinkets in the past have gone this route before, back in like WoD.

Humans had their old PvP “break out of stun” racial, so people would roll human and basically have an empty trinket slot they’d use for these “PvE” trinkets and bring them into PvP, giving them an edge.

PvE and PvP gear basically have to be kept segregated, otherwise PvP stuff might become really good for PvE and vice-versa.

I personally didn’t mind it too much as I like cross-pollination in content, but sometimes stuff is just blatantly broken.

Like legendary weapons obtained through PvE, when they are used in PvP are generally devastating.

Back in Wrath, if you saw someone with Shadowmourne on the enemy team, you knew you were in for a bad time lol.

PvE stuff if it isn’t nerfed, is generally miles ahead in terms of power, compared to PvP gear.

PvP gear tends to be high in stamina and defensive stats like versatility, allowing for longer fights.

PvE gear kinda throws a wrench into all of that, if people start mixing and matching pieces. (Usually trinkets and weapons.)

Game isn’t really balanced around people having both.

You’re supposed to be fully in PvP gear for PvP. That’s how they balance it.
