Do you run addons? If so I’d check they’re updated. But otherwise, yeah, blizz.

It’s the servers. Or you’ve got an Aussie bg where it’s on an oceanic data center.
Usually it’s the former. Game can’t handle all of the aoe and spell effects in epic bgs lol.

Turning off enemy frames during big fights helps a lot. The default hotkey is V I think.
You need a better PC or lower your settings.
FPS lag = your cpu is probably struggling to process 80 people spamming abilities.
Delay on using abilities = the server is struggling to process 80 people spamming abilities.

I don’t run addons. Other people were complaining too. Do you not run epic BGs?
All I was saying is sometimes it helps if you update addons. If you run no addons then see post above yours by the gobby war.
If you Want to figure out exactly what addon(s) are taking up the most cpu download the lightweight addon, addonusage.
I did that and realized that auctionator, details, and bigdebuffs were causing me most of my lag in ebg’s.

It didn’t struggle to process 50 people in Dragonflight. Do you not run epic BGs?
DF didn’t have nearly as many passive effects for your PC / the server to process. Hero talents did a lot to tank performance in big fights, whether it’s on your end or the server’s. There’s more pets, more slayer strikes and arcane splinters and all the other random procs that weren’t here before.
I do run epic BGs. My FPS is reasonable, but the servers very regularly lag and everyone experiences several second delays for the first big clash in almost every epic BG.
I didn’t play any epic battlegrounds last week, but I did play some SS vs. TM. The lag on the first clash was unreal. I blame the UHDK pets, lol.
Sometimes the delay on abilities going off is over 6 seconds and that lasts for generally around 30 seconds until the first fight starts cleaning up. To me that is dramatic server lag.
Makes me think some of the battlegrounds might be running on Oceanic data centers, adding unusual lag to NA players.
But, Oceanic players don’t experience the same 2+ second lag on NA hosted games.
It’s a war within thing, Epic BGs didn’t suffer from server lag until WW came out

South American frogs such as myself can’t play oceania hosted matches, we have to literally go to USA and then cross the planet into Sydney
