The only way I know how to get these is to run t6 or 7 delves, I have like 3 champ pcs I can ever upgrade cause the content im doing only drops Runed or Gilded, I think the devs need to change some of the world quest crest drops the Weathered are to many I have 207 weather and never used them, since s3 I only got 45 carved - now im stuck hoping rng will drop heroic pcs so I can start the upgrades again other wise Ill have to waste my time in many t6-7 delves just to get the pcs to runed, pretty poor design

Carved crests drop from normal raid bosses, delves 6-7, and delver’s bounty 4-5. Its raining crests
Yeah but cmon, im farming t11s and 8s for vault and crests to upgrade, the gear that bountys off in T8s and 11s, the least blizz can do is toss some carved crests in at a current skill level grind

If you are needing carved so badly upgrade from weathered as they are even more plentiful. Once you hit weekly cap on a type of crests further gains com in the form of the next crest down until they cap and then down again till maxed.

It is kinda wild just how rare Carved runes are this season: Weirdly enough the gap between Withered and Runed was the hardest to meet the threshold for.
Normal Raid is your best source, after that weeklies, after that grinding those T7 delves.
I don’t recall having this problem in S1 or 2? But it’s here now. Just a weird thing.

thats the thing my crest vendor doesnt have the option to spend weathered for carved, it has spen runed for carved but then im giving up pushing my heroic pcs to gilded, its a mess
I’m doing delves at tier 7 partially for this reason, more carved crests, and the world boss in karesh on every toon. I hit carved of the ethereals this week on a couple toons.
I think it’s less frustrating to slow yourself down this season until turboboost.
If you don’t have that option you haven’t upgraded your gear properly. Once you raise each slot to a certain point, you get the achievement and can upgrade 45 lower for 15 higher crests plus you get a discount on crests for your alts. Goes from weather>carved>runed>gilded of the the ethereal. If you spent crests maxing pieces out instead of upgrading each slot, you take longer to get the achievements and run out of crests easier.

What he said. Upgrade every slot and move to next bracket. (Sorry if you know this or have been doing this. The upgrades this season have been not very clear.)
The GEAR DOES NOT DROP IN ORDER also Mythics even a 0 drops Runed the tool tip lies, weeklies, weathered the only thing im gona do this season is just pray rng drops the few pcs i need so i can be done with this obvious problem
Your ring and a trinket holding you back. The trinket you have to do the carved upgrading to 691, but the ring you can use a crafting spark to get to 691 if you have it to spare.
I’m making it a priority to get out of each crest bracket so just kinda do whatever I have to do to get there.

if it’s just 1 or two pieces, maybe look into crafted gear.
doesn’t matter what order it drops its the same progression of crests its always been
its the same on paper, in practice its way different, and for a crafted pc I might have to look into boots they’re rarer then hens teeth im in still in s2 boots :\ Why do they drop 684 gear in content that also provides Runed crests, thats all im saying, wouldnt it be nice if it was gear ranked to the crest reward otherwise you end up here
It seems to be a problem with how you are choosing to play. Are you only running delves? You have 45/450 for the season,I stay near maxed out from doing the weekly quests for 4 coffer keys , I don’t run any of the other content where they drop.
But as others said, you need to concentrate on getting season 3 gear and upgrading past weathered so you can start upgrading crests. The nightfall event weekly is a good source of season 3 gear. Can buy a piece you can’t get to drop from the vendor

Need to get out of those boots and at least get S3 vet boots from pvp vendor with bloody tokens to get yourself weathered of the ethereals. Then upgrade your weathered crests to carved, you probably have a bunch already.
The delves vendor in Dorn also sells vet gear to buy with undercoins if you have delver’s journey almost done. Sir Finley is the vendor.
Part of the problem is that although it seems like the upgrade brackets should move up by overall ilvl, they do not. They are per slot. So all gear moves forward together.
I run only T10+ delves and always reach the max amount of Carved Crests for the week. Are you not doing any of the content in K’aresh? For the difference not picked up doing K’aresh content, I exchange my Weathered Crest for Carved.
Once you max out on runed, any content that would drop more runed will now drop carved. I run t11 delves only and cap my carved each week. This is not a problem.
Well this is the thing, I am out of the need for veteran gear but the content is still dropping weathered the coding isnt going AHAH all this players gear is past the threshold for weather lets give him the acheiv so he can trade those up, theres not one need for nor is there any content I do that will drop vet gear to play this crest game, the only option I have is to craft with runed crests , but I am using those for a few champion pcs and obviously heroic upgrades - I dunno it seems like there’s a flaw in the crest logic, the only pc i would need thats veteran is my boots which I just got some crafted to 675 for the enchanted weathered crest to get out of the s2 boots, I dunno :? pic is showing my crest vendor https://github.com/Darthterac/KMDAhtml/blob/master/Screenshot%202025-09-15%20095430.png?raw=true
Yep, as others have said, you need to upgrade your boots (and gloves?). You have not yet earned the Feat of Strengths “Weathered of the Ethereal” nor “Carved of the Ethereal”. Once you do those, then you will be able to see the options on that vendor you linked to upgrade Weathered to Carved, Carved to Runed and perhaps eventually Runed to Gilded.
