At one point did it change? I recall it sounding different yeeeeaarrrss ago, i probably missed the memo.
It just sounds like some weird 1950s female mobster (like shes talking while chewing gum). Its weird and out of place, was it the same in Warcraft 3?
It very well might just be a “me” problem, but im curious if anyone else found it odd. It ruins any cinematic shes in, especially when she says “little lion” i cringe hard.
Speaking of voices, am I the only one who thinks Anduin sounds like the prime minister of Canada (Justin Trudeau)?

Just went back and listened to a youtube clip of how she sounded in Warcraft 3 Frozen throne. Wayyyy better in my opinion, thats how i remember her sounding. It sounds more undead and tormented. I guess they changed the voice actor after that… Oh well.

I dunno, the Voice Actress has been the singular thing I’ve always liked about Sylvanas.
As much as I hate the character, Patty has always done a spectacular job with the performance in my opinion.

When she was under the control of the Jailor she had a double voice. The actress would record her speech then do it again a 3rd higher or lower.
Once the Jailor crunched up that blue thing and threw it at her Sylvanas’ voice went back to a single voice.
After doing Mythic Sylvanas prog, I can’t even hear her name without hearing

It’s been the same VA for well over a decade now.
Say what you will about Sylvanas as a character, but her voice acting is absolutely top-notch and Patty Mattson absolutely knocks the material she’s given out of the park. And, well… WoW’s voice acting and voice direction in general have been pretty much flawless for well over a decade now.

Let’s be fair, a lot of it is pretty good.
That being said,
Everything in the shadowlands sounds so… echo-y. Maybe it’s that.
I like Patty’s voice better.

That’s a good point, i don’t know why i all of a sudden noticed the change in Shadowlands only. Its possible like someone said, in shadowlands it was recorded differently and had an echo.
No hate on the actual voice acting and Patty, I just felt like it didn’t fit the character and i started thinking back to Warcraft 3.
Jeez…Its really been 18 years? Where has the time gone.
I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the voice acting for shadowlands had to be done at home because of covid. But I don’t know how early or late they do voice acting
The Jailer drives me bonkers because I know his voice actor can actually voice act but Blizz pretty much bass boosted him and other edits that I had trouble understanding him without subtitles.
