Whats up with honor pvp weapons?

it says you need to get 7200 honor on the season to be able to buy them. I’ve gotten over 15k+ by now and still cant buy them. Just now i went and checked, said i needed 3132 more honor to be able to buy one, then i qd a WG which gave me 1100 honor, checked after and now it says i need 3050 honor ??? 3132-1100=3050?

can we pvpers get 1 thing right at a patch launch for once?

I had a heck of a time unlocking mine.

Here’s what someone had mentioned on my bug report:

Just drop a totem? :squid:

Im still not able to purchase pvp weapons. I have a full set of gear and had to purchase justice points to stay under cap. I maxed on those and got all honor heirlooms. Now I purchase trade goods after each bg to stay under cap waiting for weapons to unlock. I cant see my season honor points but for sure feel like I more than met the requirement. Cant submit a ticket and no one seems to have an answer. This is very frustrating

It has the (stupid imo) collect honor limit now.

you must have 7200 honor or something.

Alts I did not power spam pvp last season…did not meet that and can’t get weapons. And I’ve not really pursued them since that counters seems to be broken to my eyes.

I make my say 2400 from WG and TB wins, buy stuff, now its all 0’d
(or jsut a few points left). and my totals reset to that 0/low as hell number.

I see no way I can actually make 7200. all my crap 0’s out.

make another 2400…0 after buys. I have not rolled the dice that some internal code stores that 7200 in time.

One char I have I know has cleared 6000 honor for armour upgrades buys. and nothing in the currency screen reflects that. Kind of irksome.

Now my pvp spammers in season 1, this was not an issue.

Its just a really odd (and stupid imo) lock to me,

They will unlock not sure how many honor points but around 16 k . I unlocked them on 3 toons took forever .

I experienced the same frustration. While I never figured out an exact number/formula on hitting the 7200 mark, I did find (think it was here in the forums) that once I had banked enough honor to cover the weapon’s cost, trying to purchase it from the vendor would give me the remaining honor I needed to buy it.

So once you’ve baked the cost, go to the vendor and try to buy the weapon you want. You should see a message saying something like, " You still need xxxx honor points…".

After that I checked after each WG/TB until I could purchase.

LOL. Just buy the 378 Conquest weapon.

Is this ever getting fixed? It’s been a month and not one blue post recognizing the problem. I got my 5th 85 a few days ago and have over 10k honor and can’t buy the weapon. By my calculation, every 1000 honor I gain only drops the amount the vendor says I need by about 200 honor. I’ve been playing since WoW came out and have never seen this bug before, and that’s across probably 20 max toons. Fix this because it removes a lot of incentive to play.

I think Blizz forgot Cata existed. It’s kind of insane the gearing regardless. Why are there 3 tiers of gear that require certain ratings when it’s way less obtainable than it was back in original Cata?

If Blizz can modify the VANILLA honor system to give literally everyone and their mothers Rank 13… then why can’t they make gearing for PvP in Cata a bit friendlier, especially since this is a nostalgia server and PvP participation is way down from original?

Just jump into rated arenas, and bypass honor gear altogether. It pretty quick to gear up.

:woman_shrugging:

Can’t win if you don’t have gear. Not sure what you’re talking about. Also there’s no solo queue. None of my friends play this anymore.

Why do people with high ratings need a gear advantage? Pretty pathetic design.

I mean, it’s not as if I haven’t done it on several characters. If you want to spend your time doing other things and complaining that it’s time consuming and difficult to gear up, then go ahead.

It’s pretty ignorant though, imo. There are much easier/faster ways, and you’ve been informed.

:woman_shrugging:

The shrug emojis aren’t helping you look any less condescending. Grow up.

Participation is clearly way down and people are voicing an opinion. You don’t need to get triggered over it and be rude on forums. Yikes. Hope you’re okay.

Well so what? Should I speak up to you, when you’re complaining that you don’t know what to do to gear up, and having a hard time doing what you’re doing, then ignoring advice that could help when given?

Good luck out there!

Yes of course. I agree with this. I’m not sure who Cata is intended to appeal to at this point. Inferno dungeons with their slowed down, easy, boring content that also seems to discourage people from doing older raids seems to send a strong signal that it’s an older, slower reacting crowd that is content with such content and wanting such catchup mechanics. That doesn’t appeal to me personally.

I think Retail is a vastly better lobby game with better options for instanced content, including PVP and dungeon grinding and Classic (Era and HC particularly) are great for focusing on more RPG aspects, exploring the world and finding your own content, community-building, etc.

Just my two-cents.

Haha, yeah. Well, good luck figuring out how to gear for PVP.

Not relevant advice at all. I’m not looking for advice. I’m complaining about the honor set being needlessly long to obtain and the fact that there’s higher gear gated behind ratings that FAR less percentage of people are able to obtain. Not sure how you can’t read that.

It would be if not for the fact that healers are literally unstoppable gods in retail. Many people including myself don’t like how retail is balanced in terms of numbers. In Cata, if I’m top of damage in a bg… I feel it. The classes feel good. In retail, if I’m top damage, most of the time I feel like I’m doing nothing to people having 100% uptime on them until they mess up or the right chain of cc happens. It’s two totally different games.

It is unbearably silly that they can take Vanilla (which classically was VERY limiting to who got PvP gear) and give literally everyone GM gear… and in the same breath do NOTHING about Cata classic and its gear acquisition. Why even have the honor set? What is a new player supposed to do?

You suggested I forgo the honor set and get conquest set. Why is that so much easier to obtain? That’s horrible design. Also I’d have to either pay for a carry or rely on a friend that doesn’t exist because they all quit. I can’t win arena matches in ilvl 320 gear. It’s not possible. If this is really the solution and you’re just shrugging and laughing at me that it should be changed, I don’t want to play this ridiculous game with people like you. Enjoy your non participation nothing game.

Fair enough. If you’d prefer to spend your time on getting honor gear, then that’s your call.

I guess we don’t have a similar basis for what we mean here. By Retail, I mean WoW (The War Within, at the moment). I guess you haven’t tried it.

Interesting. I suppose people can look at Cata Classic and TWW and say they are two different games. If you’re looking at it in terms of the maps in BGs, as there are certainly different maps available in TWW, and solo queues for ranked play. Of course there are some changes to several classes (and I suppose this is more noticeable for some classes than others).

I tend to see a lot of similarities, and I wouldn’t say that Retail is more of a different game than say Cata is a different game from Classic Era. I consider it to be an evolution of the same game, not that I like every change that has ever been made nor every design decision. If you prefer Cata Classic class design, then fair enough. I get that people have preferences.

Are you comparing SoD to Cata Classic? If that’s your point of comparison, then sure, they could give Cata the SoD treatment. Actually, one of the things that made Cata Classic appeal to me was that I thought they had implied they would be doing this in the initial announcements.

Well this is kind of my point. The first week of the PVP season, it’s a great way to catch up on a brand new character, but as the conq cap increases week over week, there’s no real point at all. I certainly wouldn’t recommend to friends or family that they spend the time and effort to get honor gear to then replace it immediately with conq gear that they have to gem and enchant again right away anyway.

Well, not least because you get conquest for losing matches, but also because matches are MMR based, so while you might lose a majority of your games when you have poor gear, you’ll most likely be (eventually) matched against other players/teams with similar MMR and have a pretty good chance of winning.

Well, as I said above: Retail is just much better for lobby gaming. At least in my opinion.

Sure. Well, you seem to be upset. I chimed in with some (at least my my opinion) very solid and legitimate advice, which you were quick to dismiss and add more complaints about. Rather than call you out, I expressed some laughter in a non-confrontational manner, and shrugged it off…

If you’re looking to complain, argue, and then blame anyone who legitimately offers reasonable and helpful advice, I should hope that you wouldn’t want to play with people like me.
