I think DF was a good expansion overall, but I have an itch that I can’t scratch : the Dracthyr! I think their model looks super bad and I know I’m not alone in this. Bring on the new dwarves and the Nerubians, please. I can’t wait for the Dracthyr to become nothing but a painful memory.
I mean, they may not be at the forefront of the story but they’re still going to be in your groups.
It just wasn’t engaging; not explicitly bad but not great either.
Well, you’re gonna have to wait.
Weird take overall
The only parts of DF that I really didn’t like was:
- Locking campaigns behind Renown (has since been changed)
- Making some crafting recipes have a stupidly low drop-rate - whether it was from Rare spawns or that dumb draconic bottle (which itself was a stupidly low drop-rate)
I do think it’s a bummer that we didn’t get the drakonid as a playable race too. They hinted at it super hard - both in an interview saying that they weren’t going to add more classes to dracthyr but that they might explore more draconic player options through allied races - and in that big, multi-patch questline that explores the drakonid finding their own identity and ends with them being freed to do what they want.
I think the signs are pretty clear that they were planned but plans pivoted, and I’m sad about it because a beefy dragonman paladin would have been dope.
Dragonflying.
Taking big long breaks from playing because Now i am back and getting ready for TWW and i have no idea what is going on…
I mean like I help a old tree go for a walk, some bostoninan moles lost their homes, and a crazy fire dragon is messing with the emerald dream… WHat!?
I thought we were helping the dragon aspects make babies again…
The only thing that has remained constant is Sabelian and WRathion are still being turds to each other and Ebysian is still not taking charge.
It’s all been so average that there hasn’t really been a bad element.
But I am once again like third expansion in a row disappointed with professions. They should just be more fun and engaging than they are for how much time they spend developing them.
But that’s probably a result of the economy just being trash thanks to the WoW token.
Professions.
I used to love leveling them, now I despise it and will never touch them again.
This is coming from somebody who levels engineering for fun.
It’s kind of difficult for me to pin it exactly. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed DF - easily in my top 5 with Legion, so finding a ‘worst part’ is a bit hard to pick. ![]()
I guess if I had to choose something, I guess I’m not the biggest fan of the crafting revamp. I like the work order system, but I was hoping for crafting to feel like it’s own form of gameplay. That’s about it though.
Hmm. Maybe the dungeons/mythic+. I was surprised by this. In every other season, I had at least 3 dungeons I liked because of the oldies so I didn’t realize it. In this dungeon pool, I only like AA.
the overall tone.
it’s too… sanitized. child-friendly. it’s just lame. like, they talk down to you in the first handful of quests, there’s chromie infantilizing themself, fyrakk is just ridiculous in the the emerald dream (had us dead-to-rights: did nothing.)…
it’s just not good. granted, i’ll give it a little slack for the azure span and ohn’ahran Plains, they were’nt bad, but they were’nt good either. but most of the expansion? had a similiar feeling to parents trying to hide the facts of life from their children.
Didn’t come til recently: the few sources of Drake Awakened Crests for open-world players. Never once even reached a weekly cap.
I still have this book in my bags that I got from the Seat of the Aspects that Wrathion gave me and there is no follow up
I don’t have any interest in the story. It was…OK, but not very compelling to me. I guess I am just not a big enough fan of dragons and dragon-adjacent races to care. Dracthyr…zero interest. And Chromie is annoying as hell.
WotLK and Legion are the exact opposite for me being that they are steeped in a lot of the lore and storylines from WC3, which was the first Warcraft game that I played. I felt more invested in the story of those expansions than I did about DF, which was basically just “sure, I’ll kill you for loot, I guess” to me.
agreed.
abomination. nothing more.
single handedly the worst change ever made in world of warcraft in the almost 20 years.
I did not like the caverns content and hated having to fly down there to do the campaign on my alts.
There should be a magic port in and out of the city down there.
Why the centaurs…
Sharding… The worst part about Dragonflight expansion is the server sharding. My characters are randomly carried away to a foreign place at critical moments of game play.
