I made a bait thread once the title was innocent but political, but the entire thread message was about treating everyone online like a human being with their own Hope’s and dreams and to not judge people based off surface level perspectives. I was banned for a bit for it.
All the Where do “______” people come from in wow. The author HAS to have a forum ban coming up right?
Yep. It wasn’t quite as special but Palehoof’s quitting post was pretty unique as well.

I honestly don’t know. Haven’t seen a single obvious bait thread that didn’t get so many replies, so IDK if that makes it “the worst”.
Like, the people know it’s extremely obvious and yet reply on topic, calling it “bait” and whatnot.
The point of bait is to ignore it and move on(report if you like) not spam with replies to keep it on the first page lol

The problem with that approach is that ignoring bait implies that replying to it would make you triggered. You also lose the opportunity to trash someone. The winning approach to bait is to reply to the bait and take a dump on the baiter, and also report them at the same time so it is win-win-win.

If you have ego issues, sure. I’m fine, though.
The whole point of bait is to trigger people. If you don’t get triggered, you defeat the bait. It’s that simple.
Showing indifference isn’t being triggered. Wasting your time and energy replying to bait is being triggered.
If you’re already committed to spending time on the forum to kill time during the work, time spent is one thread isn’t anymore wasted than time spent in another thread.
Every single thread about subclasses.
There are so many bad bait threads lately but that one with the guy outraged he had to soulbind a trans character pops into my head.

Probably the ones that got me banned from the forums, lol. I’ve been around for a long time and, sometimes, I’m tired and sad about the world enough to take the bait.
My biggest weakness has always been thinking that words can fix things or people if I can just get the right words, you know? It’s a silly, idealistic idea but it still gets me in trouble sometimes.
If I am ever a raid boss, just keep lobbing hateful statements at me until I am tired and then, when I go off, hit me with the Mighty ban-hammer of Chill-out. Boom! Down I go. But I promise to drop only loot you don’t need.
