I mean, he’s around since Vanilla, we beat him for like 3/4 times and keeps coming back.
What do he have that is so special, besides Nostalgia? I did some research, and found nothing relevant about him Lore-wise. i am missing something?

He’s just a big famous abomination and associated with Naxxramas and by extension Kel’thuzad.
He’s just a particularly noteworthy boss from a noteworthy raid.
People remember him because he hit really hard.
He is remembered because of the meme about “oh this fight is a patchwerk fight just tank and spank” etc.
Anyway if this is in regards to the pre patch event… It’s more cameo if you ask me.
He gained a certain kind of fame with raiders, in particular. He was a very simple boss without any complex mechanics, which was balanced out by having extremely high base health and damage. This meant he acted as a check on player gear and, to an extent, skill: there wasn’t any special trick to winning against him, you just had to be strong.
He’s shown up 3 times: once in Classic Naxx, once in Wrath Naxx, and finally once in the pre-patch event. Why are you singling him out when he’s not the only Naxx boss to come back in this patch? There’s nothing special about him but you seem to think there is.
Patchwerk is an abomination; abominations are fun!
You no complain about Patchwerk! You no ruin fun time!
indeed
He also shows up at the end of the DK starting experience.
Isn’t that to showcase all the Naxx bosses are back? A quick cameo then you fight him at max level(80).
You can’t keep a good man down, and he’s made of roughly 27 of them.
Patchwerk is the ultimate DPS player’s wet dream. A simple, uncomplicated fight were you get to mash buttons as hard as you can and flex your epeen.
Well, he’s a HotS characer for one.
Speaking of which, should these appearances be considered canon?
I ask because people often talk about the San’layn being almost wiped out, but apparently they can just be brought back if the Blood Queen is any indication.
That’s Stitches.
If you were to switch Stitches with Patchwerk in HOTS, would he be any different, though? Abominations seem interchangeable.
Oh. So it is.
The token abomination character in HS: Battlegrounds is Patchwerk, so everything’s needlessly complicated lmao.
Speaking of Naxx bosses, I really wish Blizzard would finish the stupid dungeon journal and complete the Vanilla-Wrath raid entries!
Yeah they are canon.
