And yes, I know how they get their numbers. They aren’t accurate. Not everyone who talks about WoW is subbed. It’s all we got.
I’d say 1mil to 1.2mil player population, As long next expansion really knocks it out ball park I wouldn’t doubt we will climb back up 5+ million player base. If it doesn’t then player base might sink under 1 million, as of now Shadowlands expansion just stands as a testament of pure failure to the community and biggest loss of subscribers in history of World of Warcraft.

defo like 1/5’th of what it used to be back in Season 1.
On RIO, Season 1, I was ranked like 10,000 ranked, and this season I am 1,007 rank… so umm/ Yes, I got higher score now bla bla, but still.

I would say it’s hovering around 1.5 - 2 million. 3 million seems high. That’s basically assuming most folks that bought SL stuck around.

It’s difficult to really say but I can believe any number from 1 million to 3 million.
A large part of the issue is just how slowly Shadowlands has been progressing content. When you don’t release any substantial content for months and months at a time you’re inevitably going to get dropoff. Every MMO’s active player base fluctuates wildly with their release schedule. It’s one of the reasons why the claim a few months back that FF14 had surpassed WoW in subscriber numbers was both believable and also not significant. Comparing WoW’s sub numbers during its off-season to FF14’s numbers while in the throes of new expansion hype is not really an apples to apples comparison.
I think that any snapshot of sub numbers from any point in time is really not that interesting. What would be more enlightening is looking at the performance over time of various expansions. How quickly the sub numbers settle down from an expansion spike is I think more interesting than exactly how tall or low the peaks and valleys are.

Less subs than Gawr Gura thats for sure. Definitely under 2 mil.
Kinda hard to prove anything since they don’t share the sub numbers anymore. But you do you.

Concurrent is around 40k average, there’ gonna be around 5% of subscribers online at any one time, so around 800k.

1 -2 million. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it was under a mil. It’s complicated though. What percentage of that plays on classic servers. What percentage actually does SL content. Once you break the numbers apart it’s kinda sad.

I see plenty of people when I play. I have a full active guild. Subs may be down, but things are still going well as far as I can see.
