I heard its Sargeras. Why not Argus? Didn’t he turn red in the Mythic (cannon) fight? Any speculation about it? Any relevance it could have in Shadowlands?

It appeared at the center point of the giant portal closing and Sargeras being dragged away, so it’s likely either Argus or the Seat of the Pantheon. More likely the latter as Argus is technically within the Twisting Nether, so with the portal shut we shoudn’t really be able to see it in normal space at all. It’s kind of unclear because the way the final cinematic plays out makes it seem like the Seat must somehow be in (relative, cosmically speaking) close proximity within the Great Dark to either Argus or Azeroth for it to have been readily reachable from Antorus and then escapable to the Vindicaar and Azeroth.

It’s the soul of Sargeras. If you look closely at the center of his chest whenever he gets chained to his throne in the cinematic there’s a split second where that very same “star” is in his chest. His soul burns so bright it radiates from the seat to Azeroth. Blizzard has said that if that star should ever disappear, we should be worried. Basically meaning if Sargeras died we should be worried, since he’s our greatest weapon against the void lords and all.

It can’t be Argus? Before Sargeras’ corruption, Argus was a beautiful emerald star according to Xe’ra. When we fight Argus, he turns red assuming he completed the corruption system, if you will.
Why can’t Argus be the red star as he has been corrupted? I don’t know. 
It’s the rift, that closed.
Think of it as a scar of sorts.

Illidan went with him to extract info on the void lords and then sargeras will die, the “red star” will vanish, and illidan will come back whenever the void lords start messing things up.

Is this star still there? Is it on the Dragon Isles. I rarely look at the sky when I play.
Can confirm, I saw it over stormwind next to the setting moon. It’s super bright.
Hey, you know what’s funny? In the two months before you made that post, I still forgot to look at the sky to see the red star. But I just saw it in-game in Swamp of Sorrows. So thanks for reminding me to check.
I actually can’t see it on the DI. Possibly because of cloudy skyboxes.
