Why does WoW even have customer service if every response is AI or refers you to the wow forums? I get that some things can’t be done via customer service but I’ve never had customer resolve any issue of mine.

I have. I can’t speak to your situations, but the issues I have had from an account perspective have been resolved timely and professionally.

I kinda wish I didn’t buy a couple months worth of tokens, to be completely honest.
My playtime has already dropped off a cliff since the Crest issue, and subsequent lack of communication.

Blizz / WoW Customer Service is largely for Billing & Account Issues. There’s a reason those are the only categories that get callback & live chat options anymore.
If it’s an in-game issue, chances are it’s not something CS needs to be wasting their time with.
Someone scammed you?
Report them. You aren’t getting your gold back for an unsupported transaction anyway.
Character stuck in a DC Loop or behind a wall or something?
Self-Service Character Unstuck.
Accidentally vendored your expensive BoE instead of your old trash gear next to it?

Literally not a CS issue. Go to WoWhead. Ask friends. Ask the forums. Figure it out.
Actual bugs with a quest / whatever?
Use the Bug Report button in-game and move on. If it’s legitimately bugged it’s going to be halting other people too and it will get noticed.

At the end of the day, WoW CS is like any other big company’s CS at this point.
Yes, they used to enable their GMs and have above and beyond amazing customer service. I get that. But that era is dead. The current version isn’t so much bad as it is bog standard for the industry. It’s sad because of what Blizzard used to do, but now they’re just normal.
At least they HAVE a CS department, unlike Runescape / Jagex.
