I queued for Timewalking on my main. I’m farming the tokens to purchase cosmetics. During our Darkheart Thicket run, the tank decided to skip the third boss? The other DPS and healer started to clear the way to the third boss, but the tank never showed up. I told the tank we were gonna kill the third boss…which we did and then the tank whispered me at the end of the run, and I quote: “awesome job, hope that one boss got ya a mythic piece of gear lol” and then ignored me??
What’s the point of doing TW if not for the tokens???

Big chunk of xp at the end of the run.
Which you get to the next run faster by skipping optional bosses.
Not defending it, but there’s definitely a reason.

xp if youre leveling, and a vault norm piece of raid gear if you speed clear 5.
Don’t Blame the players who are skipping, blame the designers for allowing it in the first place.
There are 3 main reasons people do a Timewalking dungeon:
- Level characters
- Complete the 0/5 Dungeon quest
- Get a quest item for 500 Timewarped Badges
All 3 of these require only the last boss.

Lol I had a group do the same thing, jumped down into the rotten hollow log and skipped Dresaron.
I think it was purely accidental, as the path kinda splits and lets you skip it.
Our tank said they’d go back and I told them we kinda couldn’t lol.
Again, people just wanna speedrun their TW since the gear isn’t great and you get only a few badges per boss. Plus you’ve gotta do like five dungeons for the weekly.
WoW isn’t about having fun. It’s about getting loot. If people could just zone in and out of an instance to get “credit” for completion; they’d do it.
Quicker runs equals more runs equals more tokens. You get 25 from a boss. You get 500 from the quest. My guess is that’s what they’re thinking.
Roll a tank and control what bosses your groups defeat!
People are just looking to get through quickly and into the next one.
I wasn’t mad at all, we ended up killing it without the tank (a druid and I) but they were mad at me and ignored me??? lol
Sorry, but that’s not quite how this works when 4 other people want to kill something vs 1

Is never time at all
You can never ever leave

I think it’s mostly people just want to speed run everything to get their weekly quests done as soon as possible. I basically just queue into TW as a means to mess around with specs I don’t generally play and just laugh at the absurdity that generally happens in TW.

If blizz didn’t want you to skip bosses, they’d make them mandatory for dungeon completion.
Go go go! Fast fast fast!

M+ should really just be Jailer’s Gauntlet.
100% true, but I feel like when the whole group is against you…you might want to rethink about your decision.
I like how this never comes up in Old Kingdom, Gundrak, or Everbloom when people don’t kill the bosses in those dungeons in the middle of nowhere.
I’ve seen one or two people ask about the optional spider boss in Everbloom… but yeah, almost no one ever talks about the optional bosses in Ahn’kahet or Gundrak. I bet a lot of folks probably don’t even know there are optional bosses in there.

Used to be a HUGE thing back in the day. People skipping bosses caused some huge arguments. I figure the “skippers” won that argument and now no one verbally complains about it even if they think it sucks. I’m all for killing all bosses and if I’m tanking, we kill everything.
