What's the point of staggered releases if what you provide is bugged?

For real, I think every time they come up with an event in-game (like the new Nightfall one), they manage to release a bugged version of it that doesn’t reward people or even finish as an event.

Logically, I could see that being the reason for staggered content releases. You know, to perfect the things that are being released imminently and give yourself time to perfect the later content.

But on our first staggered release, we’re seeing the exact same bugged content as always.

So what is the point? Is it just trying to keep players subscribed longer so they have to resub each content drop?

I think the ultimate goal is to keep fresh content fresh for longer by limiting replayability, and to keep fresh content rolling in more often, which should help pad player retention (on paper).

Like you said though, it’s all pointless if QA is severely lacking or non-existent. If every release is going to be riddled with bugs that takes several days of (often) extended maintenance to fix, it’s just going to frustrate players instead of hyping them up to play.

So it’s not even more bugged.

Imagine how buggy it will be if they released it all at the same time.

it’s the same level of bugged as it always has been. So staggered release did nothing in that department. That is my point

They don’t stagger releases to make sure things work, they stagger releases to give you a thing to look forward to. Whether or not it works doesn’t matter, if you’re subbed and logging in they already made their money lol.

This is the exact reason. These short duration events are in the drought portion of the season when sub revenue drops.

Not saying that is necessarily a bad thing. We get “new” content and they keep getting paid for low effort content so its sort of win-win

And to he fair, if they dropped everything today the motivated players would be done with it in 2 weeks and asking for more

It feels like Undermine just dropped. I only have a handful of the reps done. I feel like this patch could have gotten a month more polish and no one would have noticed its absence
