It’s only purpose is to turn it into sparks. Why have that step? Why not just drop the spark directly?

What’s the point of green items just give me the enchanting material. Disenchantment is just an unnecessary step.
I’ll take a stab at it and say in Season 2 and onwards Sparks will be the S1 material.
And the Bottled Essence will instead be turned into another object to craft with at a different machine.

Not only that, but you had to bring it to a specific location to drop off your anima to use it. On launch there was only one in your covenant sanctum. Thoroughly convinced they designed it this way to eek out /playtime because I’m sure it counted all the time you had to taxi to/from Oribos for that nonsense.
