If they’re going to give the same amount or less than regular nodes 99% of the time?

Just one of many, many things that are broken. This is the result of firing an entire QA dept for trying to unionize. Now we pay to beta test their game… and them not fix it.

If that’s the case why am I getting 2-3 rank 1 ores from Rich, while I more consistently get 3-5 rank 2-3 ores from regular nodes?

Not only did they unionize, but that union has been recognized by Microsoft.
It’s also 100% illegal to fire someone who attempts to form a union. Firing an entire department for doing so? That would put a federal target on the back of the idiots who signed off on that act.

Gathering is in such a weird spot in TWW… there is even less excitement in farming than in other expansions. Like… rich mining nodes not making any difference. Skill points also hardly making any difference because quality is RNG now and over half of the loot is Q1 anyway. Special nodes don’t matter because the additional rare loot isn’t needed in these quantities and just floods the AH.
And what are these explosive mining nodes about? Why should I care about them? They don’t give any special loot and most of the time they give just one single piece of Q1 ore. All they do is stealing my time.

rather than making gathering and crafting more engaging, they just made them overly convoluted in the hopes of distracting people.
They can make crafting engaging, but I enjoy the brain dead gathering. Lets me watch some shows.
Me too. I thought that was strange as well.
I don’t know how much worse professions can get at this point but making resources harder and harder to get, while making crafting take more and more and even more mats is not going to result in better engagement, or more fun. It just irritates people and makes them quit crafting.
I went into rich veins and haven’t seen much of a difference. The resource drop rate in general is quite less than I can remember in previous xpacs, but I could just be imagining things /shrug
