Not necessarily the hardest, but the most annoying.
For me it’s the first boss on Theater of Pain. Warping everywhere, leaving stuff on the ground, standing in the stuff on the ground, getting stun-locked and requiring a team mate to get you out. Not being able to tell if someone is getting stun locked or if one of the bosses just warped there. Just pure annoyance.
Sylv… I would dearly like it if we actually killed her dead at the end of the fight to at least get the satisfaction of offing the (insert expletive here). But we don’t even get that.
I know they are doing the whole redeem her thing and I hate that. Just let me chop off her head and feed it to mawrats
Most annoying in current content is Sylvanas, just because of its length. As a friend said, “Denathrius was already long at 10 minutes. Sylvanas is like taking Denathrius, and adding Sludgefist as Phase 1.”
As for the most annoying fight ever? Maiden from Tomb of Sargeras.
It’s like they learnt nothing from Mythic Mar’gok, which clocked at around 13-15 minutes when it was current.
Sylvanas could’ve easily been made into 2 separate fights. First encounter of her is at the top of Torghast. The chain section can be the same, just as trash though. And finally the stuff in Oribos can be the second encounter. Blizzard says they like to make longer fights for more lore important characters but they keep missing that then actually hitting it.
For the topic question… I will only consider raid bosses that I did when it was current for this. I say this because while there are bosses that are annoying to solo, they are not designed to be soloed at first. With that out of the way I would say Queens Court.
I just don’t like how the fight is designed. With a name like “Queens Court” you would expect a multiphase, multiboss encounter similar to Paragons of the Klaxxi. You are engaging with Azsharas royal court. It should be more than just 2 people. Which it is, but the other four members are trash mobs. The decrees are pretty bad also imo. Repeat performance is not a good mechanic. It massively punishes classes and specs that have repeatable filler abilities. Suffering is annoying to deal with as you cannot be healed when you take damage. Which is designed to punish taking avoidable damage but it can trigger from unavoidable damage. Say a bosses auto attack -_- . Deferred Sentence can just go away. It is so counterintuitive. You need to keep moving to keep your stacks low so you don’t get 1 shot when the ability ends. But you can’t keep moving as you take damage every frame you move. So it encourages this “stop move” style of gameplay to the point that you can forget how high your stacks are.
Finally you have the big bubble that Silivaz does. Which everyone is meant to go into but if the tank on Pashmar goes into the bubble, the bosses are too close together and take 99% reduced damage. Meaning that the other tank must stay outside the bubble and take full damage from the ability otherwise your dps will have a heart attack.
