Looking at lvling my rogue mext… how are we ? I see some sub complaints… i liked sub so that suxs… whats the lvl spec… combat?
I assume we dont have the abilityy for group pulls so lvling takes a little longer than others?
Maybe im wrong been a while since i played the rogue
Been a very long while indeed if you are mentioning combat spec, haha.
Outlaw is closest to the old combat spec. You can level easily enough with assassination or outlaw, imo. IDK about sub but leveling is probably fine. I defer to sub rogues for that insight.
Rogues have a lot of buttons to push and still don’t always get great DPS in PVE dungeons or raids, so, whether you like it depends on what you are looking for out of your game time. If you want to do PVP, you’ll need to spend some time experimenting with sub or outlaw and watch some videos about gear & rotations, etc.
I leveled as Sin and once my old gear became outdated things could get a bit dicey pulling more than a couple mobs, especially now that leeching has been nerfed.
Normally I prefer sub for open world content and that would include levelling. High burst damage from stealth and getting topped up from soothing darkness makes chewing through normal world mobs a breeze, just don’t treat Shadow Dance like a cooldown, use it often.
Thanks… will stay sub i think… i really enjoy the play style. Why play something i do t enjoy i guess
Sub is very potent for leveling and endgame content.
Don’t base any decision around how much the wow fourms cry because they love doing that regardless the state of the game.
Sub is really easy to level with. Take subterfuge and the talents that increase gloomblade damage after shadowstrike. You can open with a stun and 2 shadow strikes and then your next 2 gloomblades hit much harder which allows you to melt mobs without even using shadow dance at all. And for stronger mobs you obviously follow that up with shadow dance. I haven’t encountered a quest I haven’t been easily able to solo yet.
I went on WoWHead and used their Outlaw spec for leveling. It’s pretty good, I’ve been able to kill most creatures with relative ease, plus having a 30% increase in running speed through talents is pretty nice. I feel the rotation is a bit dry, though, and having to maintain Roll the Bones + Slice and Dice every ~30 seconds isn’t fun. But it’s a viable leveling spec for sure.
I smashed from 52-58 in an hour using sub and really enjoying it… will be stucking with thid i think
i keep seeing people say rogues aren’t wanted in dungeons and raids, when this exists:

and says the complete opposite.
