Hello! I leveled a monk and honestly I’m falling in love with all 3 specs. While technically complex, it’s an absolute blast and I don’t understand why monk doesn’t get more love.
Anyway, I’ve been learning to fist weave for M+ for MW! Is it good for RBGs, or should I learn to be caster monk for it, since I’ll be fragile in melee and folks might run away from my heals?
I personally Think that it’s easier to mistweave versus fistweave. Both are good in PvP, but for RBG the skill cap is high to survive with FW, I recommend practicing in blitz and random BGs if you want to learn FW before rated. Plus the stat priority is totally different for FW so you’ll need two sets of PvP gear.
Mistweaver is probably the most used healer class in RBGS due to low CD bubble and peaceweaver. You also have insane AOE hot healing with good burst healing. Fistweaver is not the choice for RBG’s and you’ll notice most fistweaver healing in bg’s is just self healing.
It doesn’t need “more love”. If anything, people are fed up with peaceweaver dispels. The cooldowns are immediately impactful, their mobility is solid, and they have great sustained healing.
The weaknesses are growing scarce. They will fold easier than some healers to direct pressure, they are immobile once tiger lust and torpedo are on CD, they cast constantly so if they screw up a precog juke they can be in trouble, they will oom faster than some other specs. In RBGs where there is 3 competent healers it’s somewhat easy for monk compared to other healers but if they end up solo healing a random BG it’s different. IMO that’s part of why they aren’t rated as high in arena.
