Either Alani the lightning serpent in Vale or the three Zandalari Warbringer dinos. Spent a lot of time and effort to get them, never even consider using them.

No drop rate mounts are really hard to get, just random. Spawn of horridon, astral serpent, invincible, etc etc I never use.
My hardest to get mount would be the hivemind; though I use that one for everything.

Skettis nether ray back in tbc. It was like 2 or 3 months of doing those dailies every single day, which took a while because the mobs hit hard and if you agro’d too many at once you’d die. Also there were lots of people from both factions there all the time, so there was a good chance someone was going to try to gank you

Corrupted dreadwing was a chore, but manageable.
Grey riding camel was annoying. Those “handynote: treasure” addon was a filthy lie.
Obtaining bone white primal raptor was really boring.

The Sea Turtle I fished up back in WoLK. That shell has to be a tough nut to rack.

I’ve used it to be showy, but the stupid 400 mounts barf chicken would technically be the most difficult one to get to.
Honestly? The Nalak thundering cobalt mount.
Took over 1k kills across all toons.
I never use it because my main’s (this char) mog looks better with the heavenly azure mount.
None of my alts have a tmog that matches it, so I never use it =[
That bone white primal raptor was the one I did the most “business” on, being stupid and trying to farm them back in the day.
Finally, as with all other things, I simply bought the bones in Legion (whenever they were on the AH, for not that much gold now) with my oodles of gold. Then it turned out to be a pretty “easy” mount to get.
But yeah, never use it.

I camped for it for over a year.
Hardly ever use it because it’s so big and easy to Target in World PvP. And PvP in general. Smaller mounts are a safer bet…

that’s a hard one. it wasn’t tough, but it was a pita. the hearthstone mount. i can’t believe i played that stupid game just for the mount. luckily it didn’t take long to win 3 games.
i don’t ride the camel anymore, but i don’t remember it being that bad.

Headless Horseman probably… but I have a few 1% mounts that I never use.
Headless Horseman mount. I don’t have any edgy enough characters to use it.
Bone-White Primal Raptor immediately comes to mind here. Probably a few others but my collection spans over a decade by this point.
