What's the explanation for earthen wall totem visibility?

Is there better evidence of an under-resourced development team? Or of one that doesn’t care?

It’s just so obvious that they have no firsthand experience playing with this effect.

And to those who would say- just get a weak aura or watch for the buff- that’s obviously not good enough. You can’t just know if you have the aura, you need to see the area on the ground to know when you will/won’t be within the totem’s effective radius.

I was thinking about this in raid and instance yesterday. It’s one reason I do run Projection in my aggressive pug resto spec.
I think that if you are casting healing rains though and see most people are being good enough to stand in it, that it’s alright to let it be the visual indicator of where you will place EWT.
In PvP, I do think the low key graphical effects are a benefit for general survivability. So it’s kind of a feature when you want people to not kill particularly important totems.

except earthen wall isn’t really smashable- in any case the totem itself is just as visible as any other.

The problem is that the radius and the aura effect are not visible- and that doesn’t benefit anyone.

Yea seen some shaman in solo shuffle with a macro that yells to stay near the totem, but honestly no good way to track where the hell it is visually. Spirit link is way more obvi.

In fact, why have visuals on any spell?

You know you’re being healed by the health going up.

Pointless animations.
