What's The Difference Between Purple Void And Blue Void

For the most part we’ve fought the Purple Void so far.

But now in Mid Knight we will be fighting the Blue Void.

What’s the difference?

How did the 2 fel green classes end up having purple as their class color? I feel this is the real reason we aren’t getting a void class, because what color could they give it?

I think they’re just trying to avoid the fel green fatigue we had going from WoD to Legion.

Fel wasn’t thought out in Vanilla and we already had two shades of green.

Dark blue void is void since Legion or at leas velf introduction to the game. Purple void is shadowmoon void and warlock void mostly. There is also a deep red version of it associated with nightmare and the mask from shop.

None of the Class Colors make any sense.

Why are Paladins pink? Why are Shamans dark blue?

Why are DKs red when their eyes glow blue?

Etc.

Shadow is purple. Void is blue. Void is just the purest expression of shadow.

I mean… purple is just blue with extra steps. Also purple doesn’t exist, weird but true, there is no natural pigment for the color purple, your optics see it only as a trick of light.

Could one be shadow based and the other cosmic? Cosmic seems to have like 6 different types of damage. I honestly don’t know just adding my 2 cents for conversation.

I’ve headcanoned that Purple is Shadow magic where Blue is Void. Ones stronger then the other.

So far the only consistency ive seen is purple void tends to be physical flesh void like the old gods, and the new blue void is more cosmic black whole adjecent.

The interviews said theyre seperate when talking about the black blood and how it wont come up much in midnight since thats specifically old god void and we’re dealing with cosmic void now so thats my best guess.

Pretty much all the blue spell affects seem to be black in the middle which implies more of a empty black hole kinda void too.

Since violet is on the spectrum and most people see violet as purple and don’t know the difference I would say its a moot point.

It’s complicated lol

First we have to define what “purple” means. Because if you count violet as a type of purple, then violet is a spectral color that can be obtained with a single wavelength of light.

But if we don’t count violet as a shade of purple… then you can never see real violet in a computer, because computer monitors don’t have a violet LED. They create violet by mixing red and blue, which is purple by definition.

Then there’s the fact that all colors only exist inside our heads. Color is how the human body perceives some wavelengths of light. So in a sense no color is real.

But yeah, colors that require us to mix red and blue to achieve are non-spectral colors, that means you can’t have that color using a single wavelength of light. That’s because red and blue are on opposite sides of the color spectrum.
