What's the difference between intermission and phase?

I think the difference is that during intermission you can’t deal damage to the boss, like when Tindral changes platforms

What do you think?

I think… That this is pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

However an intermission is just a transition period between main phases, doesn’t have anything to do with being able to DPS or not

But how do you know what a main phase is?

When you are chasing Sylvanas in Sanctum of Domination, is that a phase?

When you are chasing Jaina in Battle of of Dazaralor, is that an intermission?

Just open the dungeon journal; it’s written right there

To be clear, could be that they are all just no damage phase to the main boss, but more importantly it’s a sequence that takes you to the next main phase of the boss.

It’s a ‘time out’ the boss takes to do something badass. Like freeze the sea all around or something.
