What's the difference between Activision and Blizzard?

no really this is a serious question.

Blizzard is a development company and a publisher that merged with Activision.

Activision is a publisher that has a lot of money.

Acitivision appears to run the show now days where as years before they were more or less equal partners.

They’re traded together on the stock exchanged under the AVTI tag.

This is why I often just refer to them as AVTI.

There is no difference. Blizzard was swallowed by Activision and the blizzard we all once knew and loved will never return.

They are both owned by the same parent company Vivendi.

Activision also used to not suck before they became part of vivendi. The merger with activision was not really a merger with activision it was a merger with vivindi, so really just another reason to hate the french.

People like to say its all activisions fault but its not.

Its 80% blizzards fault for the state of the game. Ion is ruining the game and not listening to player feedback.

Ion is the main problem right now and should be fired.

Everyone responsible for any creative decision regarding WoD should be fired, starting with AA then Ion. These are people clearly promoted for seniority not talent.

I just agreed with Ziryus, because as I understand it everything from WoD to Now has been hot garbage.

I think I just died… am I alive; pulse check…

Activision-Blizzard owns Blizzard Entertainment. Vivendi doesn’t own them anymore, and hasn’t for like 5 years.

Ah true, but they did when activision merged with blizzard.

At the end of TBC.

EDIT: It’s interesting to note that the ā€œCHANGEā€ came to pass almost immediately with the catch up mechanics at the end of TBC that we all QQ’d over, and it only got worse in Wrath with the most pitiful raid experiences I have endured… Although I did rather enjoy Ulduar, but the rest was just unacceptable.

From what I understand the last authentically ā€œBlizzardā€ version of World of WarCraft was Panda WoW.

Additionally I read that Cata and Panda were actually decent and in some ways under-rated.

However it’s easy to say that they’re any good given how low modern standards have sunk.

Blizzard was an amazing video game developer and publisher that went defunct in 2008, responsible for the rise and fall of the greatest video gaming experience ever, World of Warcraft.

Activision makes games for 12 year olds who realise that Fortnite is dumb.

Honestly, I’d put that timestamp at Vanilla. They fired half the team when Vanilla launched, which prompted Mark Kern to quit when he objected to the firings and was told, ā€˜We’re a real company now.’

Blizzard has been infected for a long time. But it’s taken the disease this long to kill it.

I am surprised they have not changed the ESRB to rated E for everyone… Given their overbearing hyper active political activism pay to play in the 1billion man market place of the far east.

That’s very unfortunate, and likely true. Hubris will lead you down the road of ruin very quickly.

Probably yes.

Recently they put back the poll when people stop paying the subscription. So i think they are listening now. They must be bleeding some money surely.

There is no difference, the company is ActivisionBlizzard.

They are the same thing.

This has to be one of the most racist things I have ever seen posted on these forums.
