Now i know they get the same cold shoulder from the balance team as Feral does.
But whats with this misconception that WW is bad? Started gearing mine (was like 360ilvl) and it’s straight pumping??
Is it just they had one bad season and no one had bothered to look their way or test them out again?
Only complaint i have is theyre still rocking thr same talent set up from the last time i played mine. Kinda a bummer

They were recently buffed.

When was recently? They missed this last weeks tuning
It has been a LOT more than just one bad season. The bad reputation was built over years and years of struggle, the select few great tiers aren’t enough to erase the rest.

WW blasts, but a lot of the complaints are about where the damaged is sourced and Blizz bandaid buffing the spec basically every patch instead of making very simple structural changes to the talent tree. That and Blizz recycling a bunch of our old mechanics and spitting them back at us except in worse forms also doesnt feel great especially if you’ve played WW for a while. Adding onto the previous statement, Blizz also hasn’t been particularly “creative” when it comes to developing WW. Recycled garbage aside, the most interesting thing we’ve gotten in DF is BoK cleave which was a torghast power.
Well in the past 2 expansions theyve been in the upper half on the spectrum, and being near the top top in most of SL for m+
Their ST has always lagged behind a little and i get that
They arent “bad” in a sense. But they arent in a great spot currently.
-Scaling is currently an issue, primarily for single target
-Their mastery works against the class
-Haste is literally the worst stat possible for us and actually hinders us in the long run
-Clunky rotation which, if you mess up could cost you tons of damage
But when performed really well, they kill it, easily doing over 400k+ DPS in a good pull.
It’s a great choice, lots of affixes can be dealt with just by having 1 WW/MW/BM so they are looked at for higher keys for one of these reasons.
Personally, i mained monk this season, and all the specs are so much fun. LOVE monk.

Im loving it WW right now. Looking for new mains (tank / dps / heals) going into S4. Looking like WW or Enh may be my DPS. Gonna take the low road and try out Prot War and still up in the air about healer.
But yeah, i love all the tools available to me in m+ (coming from Druid this is big for me). And the insane DPS from a solid pull. So much fun

Like druid…having all 3 styles available to me is amazing. being able to take on different roles was a decision i needed to make after playing priest for 8+ years. And it was WELL worth the switch. i am having more fun as MW Monk, Brewmaster is my FAVORITE tank, and WW is just such a cool spec to play. Such a mobile class makes it so freeing lol

Ewww lol it isnt bad but definitely not my cup of tea. I tried taking MW seriously in SL, but so many people trying to bulldoze their way through mythic dungeons instead of following mechanics had me going OOM damn near every pull and it killed it for me
Brewmaster is better with predictable damage, such in raids where it’s more telegraphed, i agree. But it can also handle a lot of things most other tanks cant, especially with bigger hits. Stagger helps so much, and within a few short global’s you can almost completely negate a mechanic when done right.
Mistweaver is such an underrated healer and i am glad it’s getting the love and recognition it’s getting now that it deserves.

As a mistweaver lover, it doesn’t hurt that MW pumps and has nearly zero mana issue in the content most run. It’s borderline broken.
I second this. Brewmaster is my absolute favorite tank. I feel like people who dislike it just don’t understand the mechanics of stagger and/or are scared off by the button bloat. It can take huge damage and when played properly your health will barely see a dent.
I’ve played all tanks and brewmaster just feels super forgiving too in terms of reaction time needed for survival. It also has a lot of tools in their kit for surviving.

Brew just have too many buttons and lots to take note. I pug mostly and I find protection pally to be most reliable I can do a lot things without the group helps like having a lot of interrupts decent self heal and also safe the group.
The button bloat honestly ain’t too bad once you get used to it. Especially if you take talents that makes certain things passive; it greatly helps alleviate some of the button bloat. Such as making Tiger’s Palm passive with Press The Advantage talent, and taking Yu’Lon’s Grace talent for passive magic damage reduction.
The playstyle is very rhythmic. You could easily play the spec suboptimal and still do well. It has a high skill ceiling though for really good skill expression that lets you get away from with crazy cool stuff. Its also super mobile. I just love the spec and the class in general lol.

I simply have fun playing my monk. Im decent at pve and trying to get better at pvp, but if fun is the goal, monk is fun!

I’ve played Monk as MW for a long time, but I think you fine folk have talked me into a WW experiment. Thanks.

One major issue with WW is you don’t scale well with gear. Unlike a DH orba rogue getting higher ilvl you won’t gain as much damage and your mastery sucks haste is bad. Vers is your best secondary stat but doesn’t do much. So dev have to buff your base damage every patch to make WW ok. Then there is too much damage from touch of death you get it off twice inba roll in AoE your damage shots up. You don’t have it well your damage is OK.
481 Ilvl and I have zero issue ending pug runs and 250-280k overall dps, and that’s without Aug and optimized pulls. Just straight 18s for fun/vault. It’s an alt too, so I’m not even optimal in my rotations.
The ToD complaints are valid, but largely blown out of proportion imho. You would think it’s 25%+ of our damage profile by some of these posts. Once in awhile you get to pop off if conditions are ideal. They rarely are in the pug groups. It’s not a scary big % of my overall damage.
I feel very tanky compared to most other dps. Karma, diffuse magic, and expel harm are fantastic. I play vulpera and had almost 5mm healing from nose for trouble the other night too though lol.
CC is strong if you use it enough. Leg sweep, paralysis, interrupt, RoP. We bring a lot of control to the table.
You can detox, which is a big help in some weeks/dungeons.
All around solid. And you don’t have to play the legendary mini game that is oh so fun right now…
