Like sometimes I think I’d reach more people if I opened zone general chat like SW or left trade open so I’ll turn it back on and immediately the first 3 messages without context tend to make me want to immediately nope out again.
Even in a 5 player dungeon the default chat is spammed with a lot of non-chat stuff, especially if you have an addon like DBM or something and don’t turn off the chat spam features. If someone isn’t looking exactly when you said something, it can quickly get buried.
If they have multiple chat tabs already set up they could also happen to be on a chat tab that doesn’t show party chat without realizing it.
The default text size + color + transparency is also awful for a lot of people to read against certain backgrounds if they don’t change those settings.

You realize M+ is endgame content, yes? A player having their chat disabled could very easily be the difference between completing a key and bricking it.

Pretty insane that people actually do that in keys.
That makes pugging even scarier lol.
Pugging is a nightmare at this point. Even ignoring all the poor behaviors within the community itself, the content itself has gotten to a point where the average player can’t do a lot of it.

I barely read chat because 90% of it is Addon spam.
i refuse to respond in-game because of blizzards oppressive “social contract”… i have no desire to take part in chat when people are trigger happy to report… if you need help too bad… look it up… want to talk in party chat? from a premade group or accept that NO ONE WANTS TO TALK anymore in game because of censorship.

It’s good you have principles to stand by.
Here’s what happens: Someone responds unfavorably, an argument happens, the key disbands for illogical reasons. I never speak during a key for this reason. The most you will get is “my bad” from me if I accidentally stepped in a puddle or something.

Weird projection to assume I’m being antogonistic. I get extremely antogonistic when someone does something wrong, I offer a tip for a correction, nobody says a word, and then it gets done wrong again. But by then they have already not acknowledged my chat so the problem existed before my antogonism.
What’s funny is when this happens and I just up and leave the key and I get a whisper from the person I was trying to communicate with. Like, oh, NOW you wanna chat? okay.

Anyway, the entire premise is flawed and you knew that to begin with. By the time it comes down to needing to communicate something, it’s too late to fix your pugged M+ run.
They probably have it off. Lot of people melted when the social contract came out, so they turned chat off.
Yeah when you expose a feeling you’re having inside unintentionally by projecting those feelings onto someone else. Idk google it I’m not a psych major. It’s a really bold leap to assume I’m being rude in these situations.

Because M+ is so toxic many just turn off group chat.
