Whats the deal with new cinematic?

The announcement one was great and now we get this, what ever this was. I don’t know what they were trying to show here. Some poorly ripped off Avatar Character Dance, some mangled person putting on armor and a dwarf smashing molten metal. No of it makes much sense at all and seem like a really poorly done video and missed opportunity for something good.

The only thing I found interesting was the Nerubian empire. That is cool and that is something that piques my interest. Everything else though? I don’t like it. As far as I’m concerned, I hope the Nerubians win.

Agreed but even then the Nerubians are are old and have been in wow for a long time, not really sure they are going to make a good enemy again.

I think they’re aiming for a different audience. The people that fell in love with WoW are not the ones making the game. These are people that resent the old iconography and context. I’d make a real world analogy, but that would only upset the forum police.

Needless to say, it’s less about WoW and more about stroking their own ego.

Wont lie, that concerns me about the expansion. Just look at what happened with Diablo.

Seems to be the trend in entertainment these days. Take a successful IP, hire self-indulgent writers that don’t know or care about what made the franchise popular to begin with, slowly alienate the audience, then blame the fans for its decline in popularity.

Kinda curious why they couldn’t get the Earthen, Harronir, and the Arathi fighting the Nerubain. Might be a hindsight thought. :robot::thought_balloon:

I can’t argue with this at all.

I think the idea behind it was to present the expansion themes in a concise format. We go through different zones and factions and end on the big bad of the expansion.

I got the impression the cinematic was to create a mood for the expansion rather than actually being a preview of coming attractions.

That’s fine with me. I’ve been in movie theaters to see one movie and seen a trailer for an upcoming movie that was so long and so detailed I didn’t see the need to go see the movie itself. I’d already seen most of it.

I’d rather learn about the story as I play it.

They should have put more focus on the Nerubians and Xal,Atath. The rest was terrible.

I am not looking forward to the spider people, I already don’t like spiders as it stands.

I dunno, I’m inclined to agree simply on the basis of how old WoW is. The majority of people who created WoW and helped lay the foundations for the Warcraft universe are no longer involved with it. I think it’s a pretty safe bet to make that by now, there’re people on-staff who have no particular passion for the project and possibly didn’t even know much about it before they were hired because they’re only looking for a job.

I’m not the victim. I’m observing what is happening and stating an opinion. If that’s offensive to you, then maybe it hits a little close to home. I’m not sorry about that. I think you might need some anger management treatment.

I think that sums it up pretty well. The animations looked cool, but I have no idea what they were trying to do.

I need anger management but you talk about mental disease because you don’t like story changes LMAO. You are a victim. You blame and point the finger and act as if everything is a personal attack or something done out of spite. Your a key board Karen.

Your accusations sound like projection. I’m not going to stoop to your level.
