Whenever I feel the need for reality, I shut off the pc. In a game I want all the unreal fantasy they can throw at me, including a pixelated house
At some point, directly imitating real life within a game removes the gaming aspect.
I do understand the allure, ive played stardew valley before.
The real issue is the fact that this is a farcical attempt at placation as a result of the shoddy run TWW has had so far.
Adding houses wont make the rest of the game any more bearable.
Exactly.
That’s why many people enjoy the idea of player housing. Collecting stuff. Patterns, items, designs…houses.
It’s fun to have a little corner in the game that’s just yours and customized to your own taste. I hope it’s not like garrisons though. We need to be able to fully customize it.
I’ve only played one MMO with housing and I still didn’t get it. I also don’t understand how it’s role playing anything.
What is the point of going on an adventure if you don’t have somewhere to come home to and display your conquests and tell stories by the fire of your valiant battles?
Remember when this game used to be an MMORPG and was about playing a role in a big old fantasy world?
My collections I can use in the world while playing the game.
Mounts I use dozens of times daily while playing. Mogs I use when I play with my character while playing the game.
An instanced house is just a place for me to not play the game and look at my collections?
Exactly. In a game like SIMs you unlock more assets to put in your house by building houses…
In WoW you get more assets for your house by (presumbly) killing mobs in the overworld.
Housing just has nothing to do with the gameplay loop of WoW. It’s two separate games shoves into one.
To be honest my guy to each their own. I got no idea what I’d do with player housing, didn’t know what the point was in FF14 either. If I wanted to decorate a house I’d go to the store and buy decorations for my real house lmao. However some people like this stuff and more power to them. The only winners are the RP’ers, moon guard and wyrmrest accord will be eating well.
people love microtransactions.
I like making stuff in games.
But in WoW it would be way cooler if we could create dungeons, or PvP battlegrounds to invite our friends to.
Housing is for people who hate the game.
