Am i missing something? Im watching players stream vanilla beta and im literally falling asleep watching them level and do dungeons. What gives? I didnt s tart playing this game till like wotlk
They just want to play a version of WoW that’s not BFA.
Hmph didnt think about that.
Demand for classic picked up traction at some point in WoD when there was literally nothing to do. Two awful expansions later, I think it’s pretty much what dorito said - people just want to play a better version of this game (overall, not necessarily from an arena standpoint).
If live wasn’t a garbage perpetual prune fest I don’t think people would have bothered asking for classic.
exactly me.
i want to play WoW so bad but i dont have any fun in BFA… also looking forward to the rpg elements again
Me personally im not interested in wow classic.
However theres no denying the magic feeling wow gave me 15 years ago.
It was my first MMO, prior to that all i played were shooters.
It was my first time ever stepping into a legitimate game world… I loved the scenery and the music, i loved the character progression… i just loved… everything really.
I think a lot of people just kinda want to relive that. But personally I dont think it will be the same since ive leveled lots of toons since then… that magical first experience just wont be there no matter how much i wish
adventure in a vast world of mystery
like real life should be but too bad everyone is re tarded
Right? Am I the only one who is not hyped? If someone wanted to do the long grind Classic had, how about take off the Heirloom gear, turn off your mini map, and read the quest…
Sticking to the common answer here because of how valid it is. The RPG elements seem nearly non existent in retail and class fantasy is just abysmal. Also I’m definitely going to play it for the general nostalgia of authentic WoW class design (obviously much more slower and less dynamic) but mainly also because BFA is far from enjoyable right now.
Dont even compare it to BFA WoW. Just think of it as a totally different game. People play every new game that comes out, ergo: people will play vanilla.
Rose tinted goggles. Vanilla was awful and I think people are seriously in denial about that fact.
i like the new tabard, friend!
I liked classic, mostly because everquest had gotten terrible, but Vanilla is heavily romantacized. For as bad as bfa is, or least for arena, its still a better product than vanilla.
Classic don’t have arena, arena come out in burning crusader
For me a big part of what made vanilla great was that every upgrade was very meaningful. There could be weeks between new item upgrades, and so there was always something to work for. But when you got an actual purple it made a big difference. It took months to strive for the best gear, not days. Of course if you happened to get a nice new axe, and you were using a sword prior, you had to go find a low level mob to wail in for 10 minutes and level your new weapon. But yeah, like others have said, mostly the nostalgia.
I hated Vanillia or PvE in general.
I had to grind my way to lvl 33 by killing nearby mobs and never completing any quests.
I’d rather stick to BFA PvP
all these people will cry themselves to sleep at level 48-60.
it is not fun - it is not cool- and the system literally sucked back then.
The ONLY thing great about it was the friendships we had with other people engaged in the “suck”.
It was also cool to get a piece of gear when only 2 people out of 40 would get it - wonder why they changed that? because NO ONE liked wasting weeks on farming that crap - only to have a disgruntled guild member steal that crap anyway.
classic will be a failure once all the streamers realize how much it sucked and all the viewers realize how much it sucks to watch, even at high levels.
5 hours for 2 bosses? oh man, cant wait to tune into that…
I was great when it was released back in 2004. I’ve played it since the release all the way to end of Cataclysm and then took a break until early Legion. Personally, I don’t think I will be playing classic because the fantasy won’t be there anymore, it’s not new and, as said before, the amount of time it requires isn’t even close to the free time I have today…
Classic was great, but nah. I might try it after they release TBC (if they do… it’s not confirmed yet if Blizzard will push the expansions or when this is going to happen)
Vanilla was more about adventure. Had a lot more RPG elements, and I felt like my characters had a lot more character to them. Now it’s just “get this guy to 120 as fast as possible” crap. I don’t care about end-game, I don’t care about raids and mythics. As of BFA, i find myself caring less and less about arenas and battlegrounds. I’m really really looking forward to the journey again.
I think the problem here is you’re watching someone level up and do dungeons
