What's one good thing that WoD gave us?

Except Shadowlands if rumour is to be believed and Sepulcher was meant to be two separate raids and that there was a 9.3 patch in the pipeworks that never got released (and was partially rolled into 9.2).

Of course that all depends on your interpretation of “saw them through”.
Personally I’d argue that not releasing an x.3 patch with new content (as was the case of WoD) is not seeing it through.
However the argument that recycling old content and adding to it slightly is not quite the same as abandoning the expansion, so there is validity to that opinion as well.

The new models were really nice.

I also PvP’d the most in WoD, and couldn’t get back into it after. I guess that says something about it!

For me it’s a lowered bar for content expectation since they gutted most of it.

  • Zones were nice
  • Leveling was damn good
  • Garrisons were cool but gave too many resources
  • I liked going heals in Ashran
  • Finding all the treasures before flying was turned on was fun
  • Tanaan Jungle was fun

The initial levelling experience was fantastic.

Shirvallah form and Gladiator Stance were pretty neat.

Draenor itself. I was flying around in it the other day and still is great looking. Frostfire and Nagrand are stand-out zones.

It had very high quality bird content, giving us Pepe and a revisit with Arakkoa.

The mission table + lumber mill + salvage yard + the ability to pay your subscription with gold + all of the gold I’ve had left over because of the 27 toons I used to make it using the tables

To this day,i still wonder why Wod was left and Blizz give it all for Legion.

The alliance garrison music is still my absolute favourite in the game.

Aside from that I still just really love the vibe of the place. All the zones have their own unique feel to them and they are all great. The problem was always just a general lack of stuff to do in those zones. It felt unfinished and abandoned. Because it was.

It still irks me. That expansion had the potential to be one of the best. I’ve always speculated that they were rattled by a lot of negativity following the initial reveal. Both in regard to the “time travel” stuff, and the idea that people were burnt out on orcs after more than a year in siege of Orgrimmar. And that led to them essentially pulling the plug on it before release to focus on Legion.

New models and OG Ashran.

I Wasn’t there for the expansion due to a multi-year break, but going back I find that the garrison is actually really nice to have as a pocket capitol for myself; I can quickly just scoot back at my leisure and hit the AH I set up Without having to haul my butt back to Org or hope that a brutosaur rider isn’t just teasing people With it.

For me it was having a portal to Orgrimmar in Warspear, because then I would have an easier way escaping back to better content.

OG Ashran.
Updated models. (…except male nelf wtf.)
Solid challenge modes.
Gladiator Stance.

Bad content is still content.

WoD didn’t try. An expansion that at least tries and fails is objectively better than an expansion that they literally gave up on.

PvP gearing system.

Making armor change primary stats when you change specs.

Updates character models.

Making normal and heroic flex.

I can’t think of anything WOD was bad at. I think it’s top 1-2 xpacs after the golden age.
I think people like to fit in on bandwagons and that’s why we might hear otherwise.

My opinion? Yrel.

I really liked Yrel’s character. I wish the story had spent more time expanding on her maturing as a field commander and fighting, but I did really like the character.

If we ever meet her again I’m joining her team. I don’t care what is happening in the universe, whether or not she’s hit with the villain bat or not. I’m joining her team. If ya’ll can join Sylvanas’ team then I get to join Yrel’s.

After I got flying back, I liked most of WoD. I just wish they had finished it instead of giving up on after we forced them to give us flying back. They didn’t give up on it because it was terrible, they gave up on it because they were too busy pouting about having to put flying back in, so they deliberately tanked WoD by throwing in the towel. There is no amount of arguing that is going to change my mind on that. They got mad because we, the players, made them do something they didn’t want to, so they took their toys and went home before the game was finished. That is why WoD will be considered the worst expac in WoW history for most people.
Unpopular opinion, yes, but nothing is going to change my opinion either.
