Do you ever like… do not want to play your main as your main and would like to switch, but the sunk cost fallacy keeps you from fully committing into another character?
Nothing. I switched this expansion.
Well, I haven’t played WoW in a bit, but Essences and Cloak things this expansion, whenever I resub I remember that in order to try to make another character my main I gotta grind a bunch of boring content that I really dislike, so I just give up and remind myself every night that I wasted 30R$ out of my pocket for nothing.
this is my main but some how my dk got ahead of me in terms of gear like cloak and neck and ither items lol. so I guess I kinda switched but did it by accident lol
In older expansions I would have several alts lined up to replace my main.
My main would have significantly better gear but I could catch an alt up with some effort relatively quickly.
But in BfA… that just isn’t going to happen. Too many grinds.
I have stopped playing and at this point I may come back in Shadowlands and if I do I will switch mains there.
now im posting on what was supposed to be the alt to this toon I posted on * my main Tonan) lol
DK ilvl 456/457ish mage 451-452ish lol
23 max level characters, most are at ilvl 445 to 450. Druid will always be my main.
I played a mage for years, but I had always wanted to play a shaman.
Legion gave me a reason to switch, and now I’ll always be a shaman first.
My mage is my first alt, I will always focus on it once I’ve done everything on my shaman first.
nothing, i switch about 10 times every expansion.
Must. Grind. Out. More. Fluff. 2x. EXP…
The fact that Vulpera can’t be druids.
I am just too in love with priests, imo, they’re the greatest class ever created, even tho now I am enjoying my death knight a lot more, my priest will always be my main, even when bfa launched and priests were a mess, I would still constantly play them, absolutely adore the shadow playstyle, absolutely love holy priest insane healing, madly in love with the mechanics of disc priest, priests are one of the greatest achievements by Blizzard, imo, BY FAR, very original and the fantasy it’s so well done, I want to hug the guys in charge of priests in Legion, and invite them a beer, but I kinda wanna slap the guys in charge of priests in BFA, also, death knights too, the fantasy of this class it’s just absolutely insane, I know nowadays edgy stuff is rather lame, but I still feel like the " edgy " side of the death knights is still cool, unlike demon hunter " edgy " side
I can’t put my hunter(s) down, even after the Great Pruning. Too much nostalgia? Masochism? Who knows.
I switched early this expac into rogue and don’t regret it. Indeed, the essences, cloak, and RNG lottery involved in gearing means switching to anything else this late in the expac would be difficult and annoying. Thankfully, I intend to stick with the rogue through Shadowlands, so I see no reason to change yet.
I have two kinds of mains.
Emotional main: The toon I have the most emotional attachment too. The first character I ever made. This character is who I do all my achievement and rep grinds on.
Content main: The character that won the loot/balance lottery early on in the expansion and it just made sense to put more work into. This is the character I take to raids/mythic+
The second one switches all the time.
I switched from Warlock to Death Knight. I have played a warlock since Cata. Once I got the hang of playing a plate wearing in your face class. I really enjoy my death knight.
I wont switch mains cuz of one thing, portals. Portals shorten my playtimes immensely.
I fully did this expac when I switched to this guy but before that it was the fact my druid and warlock had done so much stuff as far as reps go and what not.
What’s funny is, the upcoming prepatch may end up making this 2x xp look like child’s play.
my reputations, so i never play any of them properly when I dont like content
