I’m 100% sure there is a shard change. Other players not in my group standing at Karokta have disappeared along with the mob.
Yup. I definitely believe it’s being sharded into another phase, not the elite despawning, due to other players disappearing too when it happens. Players don’t despawn like that.
Nothing about Zc makes sense. Especially when this is like the 20th iteration since MOP
they really need to make some major changes there as well as the forbidden reach area.
Because Blizzards refusal to scale down the zone has killed it since it lainched
I popped in just now and Brullo the Strong was up, but no others. I assume when that is the case that the other couple were killed recently and no new ones have yet respawned.
They said they were fixing a “problem” where not enough players were shown in the zone. Sounded like a bug, when it was just that most people weren’t interested in this mess of a zone.
Now it looks like they “fixed” it but their solution was to constantly shift phases around with players in it, which causes rares and players to frequently despawn. Something weird happened.
Standing and not engaging can force you to shard change, but you shouldn’t shard change if you’re engaged with the mob. If you could follow up if you were engaged with the mob, that’d help me so I can make a post on all these points on the CC.
Zaralek was a weird choice. An expansion about dragons, flying, and fwiendship? .1 content patch is a cave with hillbilly molemen.
I have no idea, was working on the water guy last night and he just vanished. Sure it would take time to down on a single guardian druid but it is possible. Oh come on Blizzard.
>be blizzard
>make zone with difficult rares
>everyone is farming them
>dislike that
>update it so rares can only be farmed once every few days
>fewer players available that need the rare that day
>rare near impossible to solo
>everyone leaves
>zone dies
>dont like that zone looks dead because rares are always up
>decrease rare spawns to make the zone even more annoying to go to
>zone even more dead
>but zone doesnt look dead since nothing is available
>problem solved
Maybe one day they’ll figure out their sharding tech.
No. not engaged with the mob, but standing right at it. Twice it happened the second I listed a group to share the kill, once while others were fighting it.
Most recently it happened the moment Karokta itself spawned, phasing me just before I could attack, maybe an arrow in the air, not sure. Very upsetting after waiting for so long.
Last night I turned warmode on and was able to engage it normally, and I have killed it a few times normally in warmode off on a few alts in the last few weeks, so the problem is intermittent.
I have posted about this in the bug forum, not sure if anyone reads that.
Zaralek Cavern and Forbidden Reach are pretty much being written off until next expansion when I can just solo everything. Making the rares despawn and effectively killing the zones was one of the dumber moves by the devs this expansion.
people unironically went “UUUUGH THERE’S TOO MANY RARES TO FARM!!!” and then blizzard went “WE’RE LISTENING! WE’RE LISTENING!” and then made things much much worse
ZC was dead in the water when it came out. I think it is the worst zone they have ever released. It is balanced like it was going to be the savior of open world group play. They balanced it to try and get you to make 40 man groups for 20 minutes of quests. It stands in opposition to the concept of sense.
FR was almost just as bad, but at least the content was somewhere in the ballpark of do-able. The thing that made people savagely angry about FR was the rares all spawning in waves. You get your 40 player group together, and 3 rares all spawn at once. Raid lead says we go to rare X, 10 people go to rare Y, and the random people not in your group in the instance kill rare Z. Then the group crumbles because there’s 15 minutes with no rare. Just horrible.
They don’t want you to get the mount anymore.
Joke’s on Blizzard. I don’t even want the mount. So there.
I’m having different experience. When a rare spawns, 2-4 people go kill it, at least during busier parts of the day.
I disagree. Everything they have done has had the effect of convincing players not to use that zone. Coincidence? More like working as intended. Surely if the zone is impossible to farm, more players will decide to push high keys and do mythic raiding to give them a participation spike to report.
It takes a while, but a tank with10.2 open world gear can pretty safely kill the rares. It’s dropped off my routine though because I had a long string of days where I went down to check and nothing was up.
