Here in Canada a lot of our politicians have asked us to stay home during the pandemic while they have gone to foreign countries for a vacation.

Not unless we’re all a few hundred Trump supporters, which is at minimum statistically impossible.

I thought he got 49% of the votes or something, so nearly the half could be counted as Trump supporter?

Less than half of the US voted fwiw, so 49% does not mean 150 million people
It’s probably the worst thing that I have ever seen in our country and honestly it’s sad. By the very definition of what is going on it’s a coup attempt by the President and his supporters because they don’t want to accept the fact that he lost. They’ve assaulted law enforcement, broken into the Capitol buildings, actually destroyed parts of it, and forced the evacuation of congress members and the Vice President.
I’d go one with my thoughts but I’d probably get flagged at that point. I just want to say to the rest of the world we know it’s disgusting and there are plenty of us who are disgusted by it.

“A few hundred” - the number who rioted today. And the reasons and degrees to which people voted for Trump vary significantly, and many of those are in a different galaxy than these rioting nutjobs.

And how many of the total supporter were in DC? “A few hundred” are still “a few hundred” too much. I wasn’t addressing you personally with “have you become crazy”, but in general that the situation has escalated like this, incited by the president.

Democracy is dead. It has eaten itself to oblivion.
It is, though in their minds it’s the right thing to do. And while it is disgusting they do have four years of precedent in the form of tens if not hundreds of thousands of people on the other extreme variously taking over portions of cities, attacking police and other races, destroying property, and laying siege to federal buildings because they thought it was the right thing.

Just because there are thousands, if not millions, of examples of murder with countless years of precedent, people do not suddenly become murderers.

It was closer to 40%, sure. But 150 million in our country is a still a record number of people, regardless.

We’re sick of our so called leaders not doing their jobs, then taking our money and sending it overseas instead of taking care of it’s own people. Now the commie socialist ash hats are supposedly going to be in charge, instead of the giant douche and turd sandwich. And some people aren’t going to sit by and let it. Antifa is trying to destroy our country by turning both sides against itself. The are behind all the social unrest going on. Showing up at peaceful protests and starting up unrest.
