What's going on here?

So in the anniversary realms I have 7% chance to hit and there exists a few problems.

  1. When attacking players I get more dodges and parries than crits (20% crit currently) clothies dodge me more than I land a crit. Attacking players lower level than me I still get more dodges and parries than crits. Weapon skill is 299/300
  2. When I hamstring hunters, specifically hunters. The animation for hamstring goes off the damage is calculated but no hamstring debuff is applied, I have to land 3 of them to get only 1 to apply. This never happens with other classes, just hunters. (even in a 1v1)
  3. I intercept stun a flag capper, and fear all the others on the flag yet the flag still gets capped post stun and fear, are warrior abilities even working right? Do they prevent flag caps?

I don’t know if it’s across the board or if Blizzard has an axe to grind with me specifically.

Update: Vs. Commander Duffy 61(elite) in AV I had 6 dodges and a parry. I know that as a 61 weapon skill could have contributed to the parries and dodges HOWEVER…

Of the 6 dodges and 6 overpowers (2/2 Improved Overpower) I got ZERO critical strikes on overpower at a 70% crit chance.

I think not having 300/300 really lowers your hit in pvp.

Also parry is only from the front.

RNG got you good didn’t it?

I don’t think weapon skills matters in PvP I think it’s treated as max for your level against players.

It could be that your understanding how Hit works needs some reference. Being hit capped is 6% for melee (assuming you have 305 weapon skill) You will need 8% hit to be capped at 300 weapon skill.

At hit cap you can still be dodged and parried, but your yellow dmg abilities won’t ‘miss’ - specifically miss, which doesnt include dodge or parry

In PvP, weapon skill only affects your chance to land a crit against the same lvl opponent iirc (players, not npcs)

The hunter thing could be them popping a fap or using some other ability Im unaware of

hunters have a passive in survival called “surefooted” which makes various forms of snares vanish into thin air against them, priests have a similar thing for interupts called martyrdom where if you crit them, for a short time after, any kick or pummel ability will have a 20% chance to vanish into the ether, never to be seen again

you aren’t going insane, surefooted hamstrings don’t give a message that your hamstring failed, you just hear and see the hamstring, see the damage and then no hamstring happens

The other stuff I can’t tell you what happened, but hit and parry/dodge don’t interact and you aren’t the first person who said that av mobs have reduced crit chance vs them, there’s a thread about backstab recently with people also saying the same thing

Was the hunter big and red at the time?

As a rogue player at times, there is empathy for the OP lol.

When RNG hates you, it doesn’t hide it. At all.

This. When Im farming on my rogue, evicerate, ghostly strike, and kidney shot seem to have a 2567% chance to not land when the mob is at 5% health, or is about to run, or about to snare me and range me. That’s with the +Hit talent maxed.

That cold blood evisc has a 9000% chance to get dodged.

I think this could be due spell batching, which sucks

I love many things about the golden trio of classic → WotLK but I most definitely do not regret the removal of dodges/parries/misses.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Weapon skill doesn’t matter in BGs but it does in open world PVP.

Also the OP doesn’t understand hit.

Having 7% hit only means your special abilities (yellow damage) should hit. Autos will still miss a lot.

Also dodges and parries aren’t misses. You can’t prevent dodges or parries.

Did you just get unbanned?

Ocnar from Hyjal back in the day?

That’s because you focus on negatives.

Weapon skill doesn’t matter in PvP.

Hunters have a talent in survival tree that reduces the chance of slow effects to be applied to them by 15%. It feels more than that to you because of the same issue in number 1, focus on negatives.

That’s 99% that there is someone else capping the flag that wasn’t/resisted intercepted or feared and 1% chance that you did it on the same batch which is about 50ms.

Weapon skill/def skill is counted as 300 for a lvl 60 when they attack a player regardless of location. However if you have more than 300 weapon skill you get the benefit of it which is more hit n less dodge parry in PvP. Same as def skill

Hit cap for all yellow n white attacks with a range weapon or 2h weapon is 5% in PvP. White cap for dual wield is 24%. This means a war with a 2h n 5% hit will never see a miss in PvP unless the opponent has more than 300 def or use an ability that reduces chance on hit.

Legit thought about speccing Assassination for the meme.
I remember my roommate being a Cold Blood rogue back in the day before he went Sub for the dagger bonuses(He was running Dagger in Vanilla all the way to Naxx).
